Definitely no sweeteners. I really enjoy that pure tea taste. Actually I prefer my tea straight with no additions. This is odd because I live in South-East Europe and the tea culture here is to add sugar (or honey) and lemon to any tea.

Like SupremeMongoose, I go through unsweetened periods but end up sweetening most cups. MIlk 50% of the time in Chai, 25% of the time in the black varieties.
My ancestors were from England, came to Massachusetts Bay in 1631. I guess I come by it naturally.

Well, I drink a lot of tisanes and lovely herbal ‘teas’ that don’t require any additions. When I am drinking a more traditional black tea such as an orange pekoe I sometimes add a tiny bit of honey or a bit of raw sugar if I’m at work (no honey there!). I’ll also add a tiny bit of cream occasionally, though I’ve really gotten out of the habit of adding anything to my tea that didn’t come in the original packaging.

I almost always sweeten my tea. Milk, sugar (or sometimes honey instead). Occasionally lemon. The only time I don’t add anything to my tea is when I’m drinking herbal teas, like peppermint. But for black teas — always.

Although, whenever I’m brewing my first cup of a tea that’s brand new to me, I just drink it straight, without adding milk or sweetener. I just want to know what it tastes like in its pure, unadulterated form, just in case its something I won’t WANT to add sweetener to. But that hasn’t happened yet. shrug

Heh. Well, I love tea, but I’ve tried it straight and it just isn’t me! Though there are some teas that I can drink straight. Very few though. But as far as sweet goes, I don’t always use sugar and never let any additive overpower my tea. :-)

I like sweet tea if it is naturally sweet like ginseng oolong or yue guang bai. Sweetening is a waste of good tea, imo :)

I almost always sweeten my tea and I’m not ashamed! I just feel like it adds something special to it. Maybe I’m just conditioned to love sugar. I’m okay with unsweetened iced tea though.

I sweeten my tea but it depends on what tea it is. For iced, most of the time I sweeten it but sometimes I find that the natural sweetness is enough. For hot tea I rarely ever sweeten the tea, but I maybe add milk for black tea.

I always, always, always try it unsweetened first (unless I’m out, and they sweeten it without my asking). Then if I feel it needs something, I add a bit of sugar or honey or milk. I prefer German rock sugar and raw honey from a farm near me – I never use artificial sweeteners, and I only use processed white sugar if I’m out and there’s no other option. To me, I just aim to enhance the natural flavors of the tea.

Unsweetened – but then I’m often drinking flavored tea so I guess they’ve done it for me.
