Mine is #1 CatAddict Don’t know why my photo came out so tiny though – probably because I submitted a cruddy photo from my phone.

Just voted!!! (eet’s a seecret!)
Oh my gosh it was so hard to choose – congrats everyone on your adorable submissions!

It IS difficult! I of course did vote for my own lol but looking at them if I was not in it myself I would have a hard time deciding! Some of the photos are cuter, while some of the sayings are better. Its such a toss up! Love them all and loved looking through / reading all of them!

My cats for some crazy reason really enjoy me having tea. All my equipment are 4 cups and a bamboo table with a gaiwan that a friend of mine got them for present to me. When they hear the porcelain sound when I pick the table up they run to the table and sit and watch me. I always put my finger in the tea and the white one(Bowie) licks it, so he usually drinks 3-4 drops.

Bowie doesn’t have any particular favorite, but long time ago, when I had some awful pu’er, he did a funny thing with his face when he licked my finger, like saying “Wtf man, what is this @#$#?” :D

That is so cute!!!

ROFL!

That’s great! I don’t understand how cats can develop such defined tea preferences, but Rothko will do the same thing with pu’er. When I get in a bunch of samples, there will always be a few that are just plain bizarre. Rothko will look so offended when he smells them.

Rothko sounds like an amazing cat!
I love that my cat is very curious and smells whatever I bring close to him. His expression and reaction are such a joy to watch!!

You gave me an idea! Every time I get some tea(I don’t buy very often…) it’ll have to pass from Bowie’s nose before I can safely judge it as amazing :)

Maybe if we consider that cats have an amazing ability to smell and that most are quite selective about their food(and drink), we could presume that they can recognize faults in whatever they smell, easier than us. So it might be easier and more natural for cats to have more refined preferences.

Yeah I really love cats :)

I voted! This was a super fun contest to keep an eye on. I hope it’s tea puppies next! I always have to shoo mine away from my tea cup. :)

That would be nice.

Funny- My sister is trying to convince me to let her Doberman-Labrador-Greyhound be the antagonist of the Tea Cats blog as Coffee Dog. I told her she would have to make a good cape and hat first :)

Might as well plug mine too, haha. http://verdanttea.com/tea-cats/niamh-and-penny-hatch-an-interspecies-plot-for-tea/

My Niamh seems to prefer green tea whenever Her Royal Kittyship deigns to stop meowing long enough to sit with a smelly ’oomin. :P My rats absolutely adore ANY tea at all, though. They even wrestle my fingers for a chance to grab some tea leaves out of my gaiwan.

Very nice picture smartkitty!! Is is safe for the rat living with a cat?

Nicole said

Does look somewhat like the rat is being sized up for dinner. :)

smartkitty said

Don’t worry, they’re always supervised when the ratties are around Niamh. :) Even then, Niamh seems to have a healthy respect for their size. She doesn’t seem to mind when a rat climbs on her for a cuddle, especially from her best friend, Rasputin.

Well since everyone else is doing it, this is Pandora, Pan for short (we didn’t realize he was a boy at first): http://verdanttea.com/tea-cats/crouching-kitty-copper-dragon/ Note the Chocolate Chamomile Curiosity Brew ;)

Ha! So it does. Unfortunately the spout is obscuring his handsome half moustache.

An update: There have been a staggering number of votes in the last 18 hours. If we didn’t have our own super-duty devoted server, I think Tea Cats would have gone down for a few minutes there. I am delighted to see that this has been such a fun project.

As for the votes- still too close to call. There are a handful of entries all in a dead heat, tied for first. Anything could still happen here, so get out the vote…

Okay, this is mine. http://verdanttea.com/tea-cats/kira-and-eros/

My two don’t really seem to care much about tea. They’ll drink it out of my glass but they don’t seem to have a preference. I used to have one who would dunk a paw in my tea glass and then suck his paw since his head wouldn’t fit in the glass. :)

The current crop of cats is more interested in watermelon and making sure I am paying attention to them every moment of the day. :)

I commented on her page the other day, but what breed is she? Love her markings!

Thanks for the comment. :) She’s a Bengal.

Bengals are soooo beautiful! Love your kitty.
