Verdant Tea Cats Contest: Win $50 and guest star your cat on the Tea Cats Blog.

By overwhelming popular demand, we are pleased to announce our first Tea Cats contest. As many have seen, Verdant Tea’s budding stars Rothko and Loki have taken the tea world by storm. Now that they are famous, they are ready to share the limelight. Here’s how it works:

If you or your friends and family have a cat, snap a cute, funny, or bizarre photo, with bonus points awarded for tea worked into the picture. Send it our way with a title and caption and we will post it on the Tea Cats blog. We post pictures as we receive them until July 4th, at which point voting begins. After a week of voting, the popular winner and their cat get to share a $50 shopping spree on verdanttea.com

To learn more about the contest check out the details page: http://verdanttea.com/tea-cats-contest/

As a side note, we will be posting lots of cat pictures on our pinterest board. The most popular one will be made into full-fledged Tea Cats entries, so check out the board and like your favorites as we add more: http://pinterest.com/verdanttea/tea-cats/

We hope this is a fun sharing event for all, and we look forward to your submissions.
EDIT:
Voting is now officially open. Vote for your favorite Tea Cats submisson here: http://verdanttea.com/teacats-contest-voting/

This sounds like so much fun! I won’t be home to try and snag a picture with my own kitty until later in July, but will be visiting a friend with cats prior to the submission deadline!

Same here – all I have are plants! And I don’t think those can really be disguised as cats…

But this sounds fun and I look forward to seeing what others come up with.

Have attempted to get a shot of Luna smelling Lapsang Souchong, but she has cottoned on and won’t come near it long enough for me to get a photo. She thinks it’s stinky but she looks adorable when she looks like she’s attempting to actually pull her nose all the way inside her head. :p

Angrboda, haha, that’s an awesome image. I think my dog does a similar thing when I try to give him banana. He pulls his upper lip back and looks absolutely disgusted! Then he looks at me like, “you mean you eat that stuff?!” This coming from a pup who eats the soil from my potted plants.

I love it. Interesting- my cats will wrestle each other for the right to smell banana. I haven’t yet opened a fragrant bag of Lapsang Souchong around them, but think they would be intrigued. They are patently insulted however when we break out the Bergamot Rose Laoshan Black. Bergamot is their least favorite smell. Good luck getting a photo, I look forward to posting it!

Haha you both reminded me of my parents dog. I went outside to pick some jalapenos, and when I came back in he was all attentive like I was out there picking squirrels. He took one sniff of a pepper and pulled away so fast.

Bahahaha, picking squirrels! :D

rofl! All we have to say to our dogs is “squirrel” and they BOLT outside after the non existent squirrel.

We just posted the first two submissions today, and have a few more in the works. Submit now through July 4th. Reminder from the rules, costumes and photoshop allowed, so a cat is not strictly necessary to enter.

I’m going to see if this friendly cat where my boyfriend lives will play along. Since he’s in love with my shoes this could be difficult but I’m thinking of some way this could work.

Well, I have three kitties…time to see which is the most photogenic (aka, can I get any of them to sit still for 2 seconds?) ;P
