Famous Tea Drinkers

Do you know of any celebrities that love tea as much as we do? My apologies if this would better belong somewhere else but I just couldn’t resist posting Rishi Tea’s Facebook status “Pulitzer Prize winner, William S. Merwin just placed a phone order! Susana is giddy. We are big fans of his poetry” And it’s even a company near (90 mi from) my house!:)

I’ve been hearing about Megan Mullally and tea lately. Apparently she swears by tea to keep herself healthy and looking young (she doesn’t look 50 to me!).

Here’s the Bigelow tea blog’s writeup: http://www.bigelowteablog.com/2010/01/18/character-megan-mullally-enjoys-healthy-teadrinking-lifestyle/

I like the article on Dr. Oz and the link to getting rid of dandruff- I use Alberto Vo5’s green tea shampoo and chamomile tea conditioner.:)

I use the chamomile tea conditioner too! Not sure it really makes a diff, but I like the scent. I’ve actually been meaning to start a thread on beauty products with tea in them…

I definitely notice a difference w/ the shampoo. Do you have a Pick ‘n’ Save grocery store near you? Ours has them on sale this week!:)

LOLOLOLOL!! :) I am not one for reality shows, but whenever I was visiting my mother (she has cable – I don’t even have a television!) I would put this show on. I know – I’m a million years behind the world :)

With the recent unveiling of the ipad, this photo came to mind -

“This was a very typical time. I was single. All you needed was a cup of tea, a light, and your stereo, you know, and that’s what I had.” —Steve Jobs

I missed who it was but some guy from the 1700s who was stuffed and who’s body is on display at the Smithsonian named his teapot Dick.

Albert Goldbarth is actually a Professor here at Wichita State University, and he has been in to Zoomdweebie’s (our brick and mortar shop) a few times. The first time, I didn’t recognize him until he gave me his credit card and then I just about lost it. As soon as he left, I tweeted that I had just served our teas to Albert Goldbarth. I was so excited. I didn’t realize that his wife was a regular at the shop, and one of our followers on Twitter.

She Tweeted right back: “I’M Mrs. Goldbarth, and you make ME tea all the time!”

Saw a nice interview with Dr. Andrew Weil partially about tea on Kevin Rose’s site:

Not only about tea, but clearly the guy is a tea drinker. Both of them.

I am fully aware that they are fictional characters but the first two that come to mind are Jessica Fletcher (Murder, She Wrote) and Hetty Lange (NCIS: Los Angeles). Somewhere there is a hollywood writer who loves tea and sneaks it into shows when possible :)

Harney & Sons SoHo said 2010-11-22 08:35:10 -0500

Upstate we’ve had Jane Curtin, Oliver Platt, Michael J. Fox, Whoopi Goldberg, Meryl Streep, Ralph Fiennes, Kristen Johnston, Laura Linney and Kevin Bacon, just to name a few! So far in SoHo we just had a George Clooney look-a-like!

:)

That is in impressive list! I would not be sad if a George Clooney look-a-like came into my place of business ;)
