Tea & Books - What are you reading?

I recently received Catch-22 as a hand-me-down and am hesitant to start it. Hopefully it comes together for me too! : )

You’ll have to let me know what you think of it. One thing I will say, it is roll on the floor funny in some parts!

Catch 22 is hands down my favorite novel of all time. I loved every page from start to finish. I actually buy multiple used copies every year just to leave them places for other people. I’ll slap on a note on it asking the recipient to read it, or pass it along to someone else. I usually leave it with (note – with, not AS) my tip after I go out to eat some place.

I love the idea of leaving a favorite book with a tip when eating out! I’m going to have to start doing that.

As far as Catch 22, it is a very good book. After I finished it and discussed it with my husband I decided I’m going to have to re-read it purely for enjoyment very soon.

Cold Days is coming out around the end of November (we’re Dresden Files fanatics in this house). There will likely be a race to see who finishes it first.

I love Harry Dresden! Have you read any of Jim Butcher’s other Series, The Codex Alera?

I’ve read the first book in Codex Alera and the rest are on my (massive) to read list. My partner, Rayn, has read the whole series and keeps bugging me to finish it!

Dresden files rock and I’ll read them right after I finish the Nikki Heat novels I’m re-reading it’s taking me a bit longer because of school :D

I was on amazon downloading ‘seawitch’ & I saw ‘cold days’ & instantly hit the ‘add to my kindle’ button. I didn’t even notice it isn’t out yet. oh well…I guess I’ve pre-ordered it now! There’s also a 5th elemental mysteries book coming out today, I think. So many books to read (teas to drink), so little time…

I had to look up the elemental mysteries and they do look interesting :D the first one is free on my kobo so I added it to my library to read later :D

They are also cheap! In fact, the first book was free when I started reading them (as a kindle download). I’ve enjoyed them. She developed some interesting characters, who I feel were consistent in their personalities throughout the series.

I have to tell you, if you love Harry Dresden (as I do; I’ve read them all) you HAVE to add to the list:

Just as fun, just as exciting characters, and of the same vein. For me it’s audio books and the narrator of the series is awesome! Do yourself a favor and check this series out.
Reads the first book of Codex, and liked it, but haven’t read more … yet.

I have to agree with Kally Tea. The iron Druid Chronicles are a lot of fun too.

Sounds like I might have to add those to my cue! I should try audio books, I do sometimes spend a lot of time driving to gigs. I’m only worried, as I have a tendency towards ADD, LOL.

I read Hounded but the only character that interested me was Oberon (the dog) :D he had all the best lines and if I continue to read the series it’s for him. I hear the books did get better so I might :D

My friend brought those round one day. Great stuff and I love the idea that you can watch the series and then have the books on your shelf too.

I have Frozen Heat and Heat Rises on my wish list at PaperBackSwap. If only I had the money to buy all the books (and Tea!) I wanted…. :)

Man, I wish I could multi-task like that. I can have two books going at once, but it has to be one educational one (that is, work-related) and one fun one.

Reading the 50 shades books was a little out of character for me, I have to confess, but my oldest daughter (age 29) & I have our own 2 person book club, & it was her turn to choose. They were much more about emotional baggage & healing than anything else. Nothing like the ‘sleeping beauty’ books that Anne Rice wrote years ago…now THAT was some crazy stuff. And yes, I read all 3 of those too.
