Just starting Christ The Eternal Tao by Heiromonk Damascene which looks at the writings of Lao Tzu. (This is an Eastern Orthodox appreciation of Asian Spiritual History) . I look forward to my reading and tea sessions.

I’m now reading the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer it’s a great series for any age group. Yes, if you can read Harry Potter and like it.. than this will probably blow your mind :D By the way Harry Potter is now available on ereaders if you go to J.K. Rowling’s website :D

I am attempting to read Cleopatra: A Life by Stacy Schiff. I just don’t seem to be in much of a reading mood lately which is making it hard to get into, all the school work isn’t helping either.

I was thinking of reading this Cleopatra biography. Do you recommend it?

It’s not very well written. A lot of the sentences begin with “She probably” or “She may have” there’s a lot of filler information of the time period as well. I would highly recommend checking it out at your local library first.

Helena, I loved Artemis Fowl—kept up with them when my son was in middle school; I think he cranked out two or three more I haven’t gotten to yet.

A librarian friend turned me on to a couple other surprisingly good middle school reads: “Al Capone Does My Shirts” and “Al Capone Shines My Shoes” by Jennifer Choldenko.

Reading “Death of a Gentle Lady,” one of a long series of light mysteries by M.C. Beaton featuring Hamish Macbeth, a nebbishy Scottish constable with perpetual woman trouble. And sprinkled with enough tea references to make it fun … “Tea with everything, and it must be nearly black in colour.”

Finally reading the Time Traveller’s Wife! Tea is a perfect companion for that book, although I always have a Stephen King on the go. Haven’t found a companion tea for those ones yet ;)

I read Time Traveller’s Wife ages ago and it was a good book but I won’t read it again. I gave it away to charity.

I enjoyed the Time Traveller’s Wife quite a bit, despite hating the wife. : )

haha fair enough! I’m not too far into it yet, and I didn’t seek it out – I found it in the work library. So we’ll see how it goes ;)

Okay I finished a while ago, but I wanted to come respond!
I didn’t hate Claire, although I didn’t like her. In fact, I didn’t like any of the characters. I have a confession – I HATE reading about rich people and privilege. It is not entertaining to me. :) So yes, I will donate the book away as well. haha

I’ve only read one book by him, Kafka on the Shore, and I LOVED it.

I’m still reading the 3 book (I bought the 3 book set) and at some point I think it went down the hill :( But I will reserve my final judgement after I’ve read it all.
