Strange things happen at 4:30 AM

Last night – errr umm this morning – however you look at it – at 4:29 am I get a call from police dispatch in a neighboring town. Lawrence which is 20 mins away from me and has the one tea house I have mentioned a few times here on Steepster. House of Cha’ – anyway the dispatch lady asked if I was the OWNER or “Responsible Party” for the place lol.
Now I realize I am totally into tea and all but as far as I know I have yet to go as far as opening up a tea shop!
I was only relieved to find out they were NOT calling about my son who lives in Lawrence. WHEW … anyway … come to find out today, via their FB page, they had their front door smashed in and lock broken. No other info was provided. I am sorry for them and hope that their business did not suffer more than the broken door and lock. On the other hand I am dying to know what the heck!! Why did they call ME? I did one time, months ago, call them to ask some questions about their tea and tins, so maybe they had my number lying around but isn’t that fairly random??

Strange. My local tea house had their tip jar stolen this morning by 3 teens. I am absolutely livid!

Thanks :) yeah my heart about skipped a beat when they called. I guess they found my number laying around but I mean COME ON it was MONTHS ago that I even called and left my number. Just bizarre – do you think it is a sign that I am becoming over obsessed with tea LOL hahaha.

Well, if you find out that you did in fact open a tea shop, I would love some free samples. LOL!! I prefer lightly flavored whites and greens. ;0)

Its unfortunate what happened but pretty funny they called you about it! I’d be wondering why too, hopefully you find out. Lol over obessed with tea? Not possible.

Most likely you have a name similar to that of the owner. :) Let’s imagine that you were called Jane, and they knew the owner’s name was also Jane, and they just found a piece of paper on a desk or noticeboard saying ‘Jane, (phone number)’ it’s not a super-long stretch of the imagination that it might be the owner, I suppose.
