anyone have any small flavored touchas that want to swap? i have a pretty good selection from apple to peony and lots in between.

what kind are you looking for? i will try to list some apple coffee chrysanthemum peach peony thousand day red mixed flowers plum flowers folum jujube cassia honeysuckle citrus banlangen notoginseng liming false balsam pear(bitter gourd) royal puer lavender but they all ripe or aged puer i have not obtained the taste for a raw puer yet.

i usually find the toucha or small cakes on ebay. usually about 2 bucks will have 8 to 10 5oz pieces to your door. it may take 3 to 4 weeks shipping time the downside,but the prices are really cheap.i got 100 grams of apple blossom for 2.56 american.you just have to search the tea categoriy on ebay. good luck on it!

There is actually a chinese tea shop not too far from here that has every flavor pu-erh imaginable. I’ve had coffee flavored pu-erh, which works well. Any suggestions for other flavors to try?

try the peach blossom and the osthmansus if they have it also cassia is a favorite of mine too.

For those who have flavoured tuochas, where did you find them? I really love pu’erh, and the convenience of being able to just toss a mini tuocha in my tea-on-the-run kit is fantastic. I love my two straight pu’erh tuochas (mini green and mini black from Silk Road), and wouldn’t mind treating myself to a couple flavoured varieties, but I’ve never seen any.

So with an auction like the one you posted the number for, about how many cakes do you get?
I’m new to pu-ehrs and have a few questions… So the mini cakes are called tuo chas? Are there different names for other sizes? If I’m making one cup at a time, how many times should I expect to steep the small cakes? After each steep, do you store it in the fridge or can you leave it out on a counter? I see that Cindy is selling raw and ripe cakes. Are the raw just for people who want to age them themselves or do people drink the raw versions as well? Any idea what the caffeine level usually is in pu-ehrs?

touchas are the small cakes 5 to 100 grams or so. beeng chas are 250 to 500 grams. people drink the raw ones they are like a bitter green tea. the ripe ones are fermented or naturally aged(this takes many years).you can usually get about four steeps or so with a serving of pu-erh. i simply drain the tea leave it out and brew the next day or till the flavor is too weak for me. i generally use a yixing or a kamjove infuser for pu-erh. you can age the raw tea but as mentioned before this takes years with the right conditions to do so. as far as i know the caffeine level is lower than coffee. preparation is key in pu-erh. since it is a dried tea you must wash the leaves or allow to dehydrate the leaves. this is called a wash and it is discarded. the later steeps are for drinking just be sure to add steep time to the later steeps. i usually do a 15 second rinse with boiling water (that is tossed) then a 15 second infusion to drink and usually add 30 seconds to each later steep. 15 45 115 145 and so on. if you take the options by weight and divide by 5 it will be close to the number of pieces you will get.

cuppaT and shane you are welcome. i sent cindy an email telling her i sent a couple of people over from this site. let her know . and cuppaT I i am sure she will get back to you she has been a great seller for me and she has recently added some menghai dayi to her site. if there is a tea you guys are looking for in specific she will do her best to find them. she found 2 dayi cakes for me that i could not find anywhere else.
