Which new features do you want the most?
How about the ability to make the shopping list public to non steepster members like on amazon to make gift giving easier? (Especially great for teawares!=p)
What about allergy markers like milk, soy, and gluten free as well as kosher? That way a person can click on the categories that would be safe/acceptable to them and would be shown immediately what teas on steepster fit those qualifications?
I noticed my cupboard now says “drank 1 time” instead of “logged 1 time”. Is there a way to change the number? I’ve drank more than it says but because I logged it only once, it says I drank it only once. So for anyone looking through my cupboard, yes, I do drink more than one cup of tea per box/tin, but I don’t feel the need to write about it every time I have a cup to get the number to be accurate.
No. It means the same thing, but the verbage is just changed. And for the better in in my opinion.:)
I agree w/ Tea4Me, esp. if there might also be a time-sensitive feature paired with how many times something is consumed. For example, if I finish all the tea in short amount time, we know it’s good, versus drinking it once and leaving it in the cupboard for ten years.
Which reminds me, at present while one can sort the cupboard from latest to earliest, exact dates of addition are not available. This might also be a helpful feature to avoid that ten year problem I just spoke of, and get some more folks cooking, icing, or making beauty products and other goods out of bad tea, which all contributes to more content for Steepster.
NUMBERS ON THE SLIDER THINGY FOR HOW MUCH YOU LIKE OR DISLIKE A TEA. OOPS, DIDN’T REALIZE ABOUT THE CAPS AND TOO LAZY TO GOBACK, sORRY
I agree, especially since the smilies are at weird points (which I think should be changed). It’d be nice to be able to hover your curser over the point you have your slider and have the number show.
I just found this site, immediately after crafting a spreadsheet in Google docs to catalog my teas. And while checking something on one of the manufacturers’ sites, saw “Steepster”. So now they’re all in my cupboard here and I have a brand new time-sink, to boot!
I did just slog through the ten pages of replies here, and don’t think this was mentioned, but I would love a field in my cupboard entries to show when I bought something. It might also be nice to track the amount purchased (not the amount on-hand).
I think I’m gonna like it here…
— Andrea in New MexicoWELCOME! And good for you for weilding thru all 10 pages w/ no search!:) That’s a new idea and I love it. +1
A mobile version would be nice. This is especially important when I’m browsing a store and want to look at my shopping list.
Individual threads for new features. Its getting hard to see if someone else already posted an idea when the thread is 10 pages long.
That’s what the reply button is for, otherwise we’d have 200 threads w/ just a few comments if any. What would really solve this problem is a search function.
I, too, would love a mobile version. And not just to check my shopping list but to add to it things that I see and may want to get later…
A mobile version would also continue my tealogging when I’m away from home—which is almost obsessive enough for me.
Any chance there might be a section of the website to act as a sort of yelp exclusively for tea shops/stores? It would be nice to be able to make a profile for local tea houses and lounges where people can post reviews/photos/teas/specials/events, etc. I know we can search for tea companies right now, but it would be wonderful to have a section to recommend or not recommend tea houses.
there is a site called Teamap http://www.teamap.com/ (run by adagio) that lists tea houses and people write reviews/post photos. Tea house owners can also list events. They seem to have sort of cornered the market for this, having done it for many years now. Not sure to what extent Steepster wants to overlap with sites like this, but being able to list WHERE you drank a tea and give a thumbs up/down or star rating might be a nice addition.
Thanks! I hadn’t heard of that before, so I’ll check it out. I definitely think adding where you drank the tea would be a nice touch. I still think it would be cool to have a page on the site to say “hey I just drank tea here and this is what I think” but I understand it’s a decent amount of work to get that up and running and keep it up. I feel like my bookmarks are overflowing! Too many awesome sites.
I’m actually indebted to this site for my 1st matcha experience:) I was going shopping about an hr away from home and wanted to see if there was any great tea shops. Instead I found a great vegetarian cafe that also serves (an albeit limited) selection of teas and decided to try matcha because I wouldn’t have to invest in a full tin or matcha set. Yay!
“I still think it would be cool to have a page on the site to say “hey I just drank tea here and this is what I think”” That’s exactly what teamap is for, you can not only search for tea shops/cafes in the area, but you can rate and comment on them as well.
Thanks Cofftea. I actually am excited about teamap, as I hadn’t heard of it before Janefan mentioned it. I will still stand by what I said would be nice on Steepster. As a social media coordinator, I run all around the internet every day, so to speak, and I am always so excited to see a handful of features in one place. If teamap and steepster teamed up, that would be a miracle, and an amazing one at that. Just ideas! Happy to hear about your 1st matcha experience. It is amazing isn’t it?
Until we can put unique ratings for each tasting of each tea, it’d be nice if we got notifed of “cofftea changed their rating of Adagio’s Green Chai” in our notices.
Oh, I especially like this one! I’d prefer unique ratings for each steep/cup, but this would be a nice compromise on that one.
