When viewing a tea, I would like the option to view which of the people I follow either have it in their cupboard or on their shopping list.

If Steepster could make a way for the service to be accessed by app developers (like how Facebook and Twitter have means of linking/sharing/uploading posted content) then users could potentially use something like the app Tea for iPhone to upload logged tasting notes onto the site.

Probably a LOT of work, but a bit less than the very common request on here for a Steepster-specific application or mobile interface.

I would really like to see Steepster Select come back. Any idea of if/when it will?

It would be handy to have an option to report abusive users and/or individual posts/reviews that are abusive. I’ve seen a few instances where this would be handy, because I don’t know how to report it otherwise..

I send an e-mail message to hello@steepster.com (the “Contact Us” link at the bottom of the page) with a link to the offensive post.

I would like to be able to add a note to a tea on my shopping list, since I wouldn’t really add a “tasting note”. It would be nice to add notes to teas in the cupboard, too.

I second that idea. I often put things on my shopping list based on what other Steepster reviewers say, and it would be great to be able to put a note. I’m wondering if anyone is even looking at these suggestions?

I know this might have been asked….but can the rating scale show the score we are giving the tea as we slide it left or right? It would be easier to give an accurate score this way.

I’m new, so I could be out of the loop, but anyway, I think it’d be good if the website noticed that you’ve reviewed a number of things that someone else has and would then suggest you follow them. Also, somehow making the “related teas” feature more comprehensive could be really helpful, but I don’t know if you’d do it by notes or by ingredients, then. For example, technically, a lot of teas could be related to a relatively straight-up black tea, so ingredients may not be that reliable a way to do it, but sometimes people get such different notes that you couldn’t really do it by notes either, because people would disagree and it would ruin it. I think the site could learn a lot from Fragrantica, a site a bit like this but about perfume. If you have a look at this page as an example http://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/L-Artisan-Parfumeur/Havana-Vanille-6745.html, you can see that one part has the company-listed notes (tea equivalent would be ingredients) and then next to it are the notes as picked up by users (tea equivalent could be user-rated notes/flavours). I think it’s also good how at the top of each fragrance page, they have a scent profile ranking. This could apply to tea ( a tea could have for example grassy at the top, then maybe spicy underneath, with fruity after that). Users can also place votes on similar fragrances that the product reminds them of, which people can then click on and investigate themselves. A great feature is the large side section of related perfumes. Here they do it by notes instead of name, but that’s easier to apply to perfume than tea.

This is a lot of stuff, but I thought it’d be good to put out there just to toss some ideas around. These ideas are useful on Fragrantica because they allow users to more easily classify the product, consider if it was/will be right for them, compare it to what they might already like/have, etc. I think that’s really good for users, and it could be applied here.

Also, when you search a term, it’d be really cool to be able to view the results in different ways, like the highest rated ones first or something.

when we are searching for a tea, it should take special characters as similar as a classic one. E.g. Thé du Japon and The du Japon should send to the same tea…today we can only find the way it was entered first. Sometimes I think a tea isn’t in the database because I type Noel (as I think an English writer would type it with his qwerty keyboard and it is sometimes, but not all the times, entered à la française Noël)

This is a good idea! It also makes it easier for those of us who don’t speak French and therefore don’t know what all the little accents are. Not understanding them make them super-difficult to remember.

yes and it would work for other languages as in Danish you use letters like this one : ø , Germans use a lot of ö etc…
The idea is most of people can find out the teas without problem
