It sounds as if there might be a steepster intervene to ameliorate the exchange composing of guess what, some more tea. I suppose negative feedback on the tea itself would not really warrant sending more of that one though, And not be stultified but where is the button for ‘please send tea samples, athankyou’

Recommendations for teas or users based on ratings by “similar users” (people who have rated teas the same way you have). Taste is so subjective that ratings from users with different taste preferences to yours are useless. I’d like to be able to find and follow users who like the same teas that I do and see what other teas they like.

Great idea. I’ve been making a go at remembering whose comments on teas are similar to mine, or who I think have particularly well-tuned flavor discrimination or even who like the same kind of teas (i.e., score similarly) but it’s hard to do, at least for me, and is very time-consuming. It’d also be a good way to build relationships/deepen our tea appreciation in a less diffuse way, like having a bunch of friends who are into the same kinds of things :)

Iphone App would rock my socks! I checked soon after joining and did not find one. :) Love the site though, have spent silly amounts of time here already.

Pardon me for not being able to properly navigate yet but I couldn’t find where to add that I had the Monkey-Picked Oolong today, too. Heavenly. Leeflea.

Oolong cha is quite heavenly, Leaflea, my inclination is towards steeping it a maximum of three times, but others find more is well ‘more better’. I dare say that should you like to post again you search in the broweser on this site for ‘Monkey-picked’ and you’ll find there are at least two to chose from at which point you click on post a review on the top right of the screen, happy teatime. Thanks TEArender2tea,
I’ll do as you suggested though I’m not the best when it comes to a synopsis of things.
You mentioned to click on a post. Now, where is that as I’m sure I’ve overlooked it. Lee.

You can always look for “how to” answers in the Steepster FAQ, which is pinned to the top of the “Discussions” link (which you’ll find along the top menu of every page). The first FAQ discusses posting tasting notes. You can also use the search function with the Discussions, found on the right.

Does anyone have any experience with the ‘blooming’ teas? I’ve not but they too have sparked an interest in me. Lee

Unless I my searching ability fails and it does exist, a button for us bloggers/etc to use so we can link our Steepster account from our site.

There was, at one point, a linking-feature and collection of buttons to use… However I can’t seem to find the page anymore (it was somewhere in the Explore tab, possibly near the ‘invites’ section).

Found it; it’s on the Press page:
http://steepster.com/press

Just scroll down a bit to “What People are Saying” and look to the right. There’s no copy-and-paste links, just a collection of buttons you can save and use.

Just had a thought based on a habit I do with my personal cupboard.

This has to do with greater cupboard-based functionality and/or sorting.

Firstly, the more obvious: Being able to sort your cupboard or search results by tea type.

Second: Tags or tabs. To explain, whenever I want to make sure I drink more of a specific tea (usually because I’m low on it and want to finish it off and clear it out of my cupboard—reuse the tin, etc., no plans to get more), I mark the tin or bag with a little pink stickynote tab. It’s my “this tea is almost out” marker.

I’ve always liked the “cupboard” space on Steepster. All the teas lined up on digital shelves. Maybe the ability to add a coloured “tab” on the side of those tins, completely for our own purposes. Maybe clicking the tab lets you add… either tags, or a note of some sort, so you’ll remember what you “tabbed” that tea for. Also useful to help you spot specific teas in your cupboard, if it’s quite a large collection.

I don’t know the likelyhood, probability or possibility of the kind of idea I’m asking for, but I thought I’d put it out there.

Would be great if we could see the number of the rating we are giving to a tea. It’s impossible to see since the scale is just “smile faces”, so sometimes if I’m feeling moderately good about a tea I might accidentally give it a score like a 60, when it was intended to be more of an 70-80 or so.
