Which new features do you want the most?
I am confused as to why the flavors list (for tasting notes) is so abridged. The function “add a flavor” does not work for me, so I find myself not being able to indicate or add most of the flavors which I actually taste. Some of them seem so simple, but are not among the choices offered. Salt and wine are a couple of examples.
Sorry if others have already complained about this, but when I searched for “flavors”, nothing came up.
Some comments regarding this here: http://steepster.com/discuss/6947-the-new-tea-page
Some more comments about it here: http://steepster.com/discuss/6948-omg-steepster-has-a-new-look
…and it honestly says more about how the search is working right now that these didn’t come up, than about you, trust me. ;P
The reviews that pop up with the tea on each tea’s page….well, they kinda should be the most recent reviews to make the pages more interesting, don’t you think? That way each time a user went to the page to re-review a tea, it would be a review of the same flush/year/blend, instead of something from 2 years ago that may or may not relate to the tea in front of them…… some of the folks with tons and tons of reviews really don’t review the tea as much as make comments on what they’re doing today, so a change up every time I looked at a tea would be refreshing!
+ me again…. I think this is worthy of a consideration. Stale reviews make for stale pages…..
Bump. This would be a great feature! Blends change, and it would be nice to see the most recent reviews of the current blends.
I’m bumping my own comment, because I’m tired of scrolling through pages of old reviews of teas to look for the newer ones that related more to what I’m currently putting in my cup…. please consider putting most recent tea reviews on the tea pages!
Maybe I’m missing it but I can’t figure out how to send a message to someone who isn’t following me.
Doesn’t have to be mutual following. You can send messages to people who are following you, even if you aren’t following them. They can then reply to that message because you initiated the conversation, but they can’t send you one without it being a reply.
Hello, I know ‘good-tea’. Today whilst flyfishing at the dock in Dana Point, calif. the guy next to me was kidding and said he’d caught two rock-cod, I spend an hour trying to get a rock-cod to show him, but my arm went numb, and when I went to show him how big the fish was I reached out one arm and siad ‘it was this big’, heh
Oolong sip-down commence, I’m not one for the more camphor tasting roasted oolongs, and this one had to pass the test of a long steeping with miniscule amount of leafs, it’s fine.
I just joined steepster today and I like it so far! It would be nice on the tea page to have an indicator of price, maybe like yelp does ($ to indicate inexpensive, $$$$ to indicate very expensive).
I would love to have a way to search by tea company and then sort by review score.
I am new tot he site so not 100% familiar with every feature. But I would like to see a place where I can sort by tea company and browse through all the teas they have with reviews.
As well if instead of just in the discussion board you have a section for tea swapping which includes features like a button you can click and vouch for someone you’ve had a good swap with ( like a swap rating) and an add on to our cupboard where we can click each tea, showing its available for swap or not.
If you go to a company page (by going to one of their tea’s pages and clicking the company name), you can see all of their teas on Steepster. It also lists how many tasting notes, each one has, and there are sorting options.
There is a thread for tea swap vouching: http://steepster.com/discuss/5163-i-would-vouch-for-username-tea-swap-credibility but your suggestions for profile-integration are great!
Wouldn’t it be nice if tea cured the epidemic violence in the Middle East?
And if transient imbibing of catechins in tea prevented world hunger
I apologize if this has already been suggested, or f this is available and I just can’t figure out how to do it, but…
I would love to be able to search for a keyword or flavor (Ex: “Lemon”) and be able to sort the results by rating.
This would help noobs like me identify new teas to try based on our tastes. It would also help experienced users identify new vendors to try.
