Which new features do you want the most?

A block feature for users or forum threads would be nice.

Seconded.

Also a better-integrated way to report posts & users.

Moderation of the very obvious troll would be nice too.

Yes to both. Sending reports is a weirdly convoluted process requiring the creation of another account on a different site and it seems that no reported problems have been acknowledged for about a year (and the last reported problem was from a few months ago). Moderating the troll would be a useful short-term solution.

Agreed. I’m grateful to see that the troll has been banished, but I doubt that this is the last time we’ll have to deal with one.

I just noticed that the user’s posts have disappeared. Thank you to the admins/moderators for dealing with the troll.

Change “top rated teas” to “trending teas.” It’s more honest. This is not a scientific tea ranking system. There’s a whole thread devoted to this at the moment, and it seems to have a lot of momentum.

+1 Excellent Idea!

Agreed.

I fully support this as well.

The original discussion can be found in the 54k teas thread.

I think it would actually be more helpful to users that way, especially newcomers.

Totally agreed!

Yes please!

Can we also add a Hall of Fame?
Butiki needs to have some trophies somewhere, you know?

You know what would be cool? Some sort of feature to track our tea and teaware spending. I was planning on adding that to my cupboard before I realized that there’s no place to do it there.

As Steepster has more threads, more members, and more activity, I find it of high importance to have locked or whatever thread with links to the important places to look that the Steepster members put together (a group effort)

Such as: miscellaneous sales thread (hopefully helping more companies post there and not 40972198472198472198 post), official swap threads, official sales thread, official what did you get in the mail…

and a Welcome thread, PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE a welcome thread (use http://steepster.com/discuss/2-welcome-to-discussions-introduce-yourself?page=7 if you want)

Knowing that at least 10 or 11 people have came here from talking to me via Reddit and Instagram, I really want this place to be easy to navigate, welcoming, and easy to jump in :)
edit, we have 5 of these already… would 6 be too many on the front page?

It would be nice to know if a person receives a message you sent them. Then you’d know if they were ignoring you (hey, about the $ you owe me for that swap???? crickets)

Perhaps this has already been suggested somewhere along the thread but I would love if we could search tea by the flavor/scent tags that users add on to their reviews. Maybe you already can and I just have no idea…

The ability to collapse a comment thread would be great. On a laptop its a bit tedious to scroll through

I wish the kinds of tea were clickable or sortable, so i could see something like “trending bagged teas” by rating when I am looking for something for a friend.

I love this idea! Also specific varieties like Earl Greys, etc.

I would love to be able to save a tea company to a wishlist/to buy from list lol. Since there are a bunch of companies I would love to get multiple teas from. So it would be helpful to be able to keep track since there are so many different companies :-)

I would love an iPhone app! I feel like that is the most important thing that is missing from Steepster right now. I would love to be able to sort people’s tealogs by top rated so that when you find someone to whom your tastes are similar you can look to see what they love without having to sort an insane number of tasting notes. Also, it is really annoying to me that virtually all teas are listed as unavailable when you can search the web and find them… I may have more ideas but these are the most pressing!

Agree. When I use Steepster on the go, I often feel it’s a bit slow. An app for both iPhone and Android would be great.
