Which new features do you want the most?

I think it might be cool to be able to divide our cupboard into different sections. For instance, three different and separate “cupboards.” And be able to name the different ones yourself – Like you could have “Sample Box” for teas that you only have samples of, “Pumidor” for your puerh teas, and whatever else for your other teas. Might help people with organization and could facilitate easier tea swapping.

I’d like to be able to post a picture with my tealog, not unlike one is able to do on Untappd. An option to upload a photo or link to one on Instagram (I imagine the latter might be more of an ordeal, but the former sounds practical) seems to add an element of connection that people are wont to do anyhow, as evidenced in the many personal mentioning in a given sample of Steepster tealogs.

Thanks for all that you do, guys.

An automatic system wherein an inactive thread, that has not been posted in for a certain amount of time (say, a year) automatically locks and disallows any new posts. It can also be un-locked by the original OP, or a moderator at the request of users (if it’s more appropriate than making a new thread for the topic).

I am not looking through 68 pages of posts to see what the status of this question is, though I’m sure it’s been talked about.

I tried to turn off all email notifications except “When someone sends me a private message” and “Updates regarding new site features.” But I still get emails about discussion replies for threads I’m following.

I was going to file a support ticket, but when I started that, I was helpfully pointed to the FAQ about email settings, which says “This does not affect notices for discussion threads to which you have subscribed.”

This ought to be considered a bug, and you should fix it. I mean, it’s a missing feature that is like a missing tooth.

IDK if this is still going, but the ability to edit your comments on reviews would be nice.

Not sure if it’s a bug, or a feature, or even a complaint, but I’d like to see some better organization features. There are at least 6, probably more, versions of Yunnan Sourcing in the companies section, and many other shops are listed under multiple names/mispellings/etc. Many teas are listed multiple times under various spellings, or company spellings. This really detracts from the usability. Certain brands have a presence on here and list their own teas, but brands that don’t use steepster as a marketing platform are really hit or miss.

Also, I’m not sure why there is a box that says ‘currently unavailable’ – I’m not sure if I’ve ever come across a tea that says ‘available’. What’s the point? perhaps just let people put a link to the tea so they can buy it?

I would love the admins to show their faces once in a while to show that they care about their site. :)

Maybe the ability to flag duplicates on the tea-page itself (with a popup box asking for a link to the ‘original’ or ‘correct’ or to ‘better explain the problem’), instead of maybe mass-spamming emails full of duplicates to Jason. Which I know I do. A lot. And I know many more of those get lost.

I am sick if the sliding bars. They don’t work with cellphones for rating teas. Give us the option of entering a straight number.

I agree, I don’t like the sliding bars either. For one, you can’t enter multiple which means you need to add a new tasting note for every single steep. For two, I sometimes do really short steeps – like 20 seconds, which is not an option.

Also I would like to be able to specify how much I have when I enter a tea in my cupboard. For example: Cake, sample, or exact amounts I ordered. As well as “all gone” for when I’ve owned a tea, but gone through it all already.
