Online Games and Tea
Hmm, I can’t be the only tea sipping Maple Story player here, can I? =) Mushroom hunting pairs well with pu’erh.
another free MMO this one looks cute! or what I’ve just seen on the website… no one else has mentioned it but you never know who you will find on steepster :D
Oh, Maple Story. I recently started it up again after my brothers made new characters. It’s really changed since I first played it approximately 6 or 7 years ago. I remember working for weeks/months to get to level 30…this time I did it in a few days!
I had that feeling with World of Warcraft.. took me forever to get to lvl60 in the beginning then some stuff happened I went on again and in next to no time lvl 60. Then it was get to 80 and not long after that I quit :D and found Guild Wars :D
I love the ability to restart so easily. Playing the same story for months drives me away from most games. The third time the publishers rewrote the game history, the novelty of a new story is easy to renew.
But it seems too easy now. I guess that’s the effect of vying for middle schoolers in the west to join…
I just started playing the GW2 beta weekend. Last one before it comes out in August. It’s really fun and a bit different from the original Guild Wars. I can’t wait to go home a play a bit more :D
Counting down the days until I get my headstart in Guild Wars 2 :D and of course when I go back to school :D
I play online games, ALL THE TIME! I like WOW a lot, but I have not played the most recent expansion, I am Diablo III now
WoW can be fun if your with friends… otherwise it’s very boring. I’m glad your enjoying your MMO’s and there’s a few others who play Diablo 3. :D
Finally bought Diablo III yesterday. Playing it way too much, and loving it! Not with tea, though..too hot for that!
So I started my head start with Guild Wars 2. I created a charr elementalist on the server Sea of Sorrows. Why? because that server just sounded cool :D I tried to make my charr look canine and coloured it like a black wolf with a bit of white. Her name is Sirius Starsong :D I’m not very far in the game yet as I had to work and such but it’s fun so far :D
Another recovering WOW addict here – I was a progression raider in a top guild. I’m not touching that game ever again! I still love Boomkin though.
I played Diablo 3 for a few weeks after it came out, got 2 characters to max level and lost interest with Inferno being insane, gold expensive, gear itemization is crap/random and with that felt there was no point in raising rest of the classes to max level. The newest patch with paragon levels sounds interesting, but blah.
Last game I played was pokemon conquest. Waiting for the new pokemon game to come out.
aaah yes the Boomkin is fun. I always liked playing a druid on WoW (mostly so I could outrun/outswim people) yeah some games get a little on the crazy side with gear, levels and such. Games are meant to be fun and enjoyed with friends. I’m glad your recovering from WoW it’s tough but there’s other games. I haven’t played pokemon since gameboy colour… I have a PSP and have been playing some PSone classics (mostly final fantasy games but other stuff too)
I met my husband through WOW so lots of great memories and new friends, but also lots of negative stuff of loss of sleep and fighting with guild members.
the PSP is awesome too! Love all the cool RPGs on it like Disgaea.
that’s cool! I’ve played a bit of Diagea but haven’t really gotten into it yet. Like final fantasy tactics it may take me awhile. I’m not very good with strategy type games :D I’m not letting that stop me though :D
I’m more of an role playing/point and click adventure/real time strategy gamer. I like forming strategies and/or progressing through an interesting story (I really like Assassin’s Creed 2, on that note). Most recent game I’ve played was Dungeon Defenders, which is a really cute 1st/3rd person tower defense/RPG-ish hybrid. Not usually a first person shooter or MMORPG player. I think Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 2, and Borderlands are the main exceptions.
…And I think I’ve gone on long enough here. I’ll go back to my tea. :)

Yes it was! yah we received about 50 emails for people asking for the mug but we cant sell it since we dont have the license from ArenaNet to do so.

This is the first time I havent been in love with the changes to the game. :(
My main is a shammy…we drop short duration totems ONLY now – think earthbind/mana tide etc…
Also though, the talent trees kind of annoy me. All roles within a single class get the same talent tree. You simply get 3/4 talents specific to the role you choose as your incentive for playing one role over the other. I’ve dealt with talent changes before, but I’m really not loving this one.
I think mists will still be fun, but so far I’m less interested than before. Though until my other half is done with the game, i’ll still play at least casually since if he’s playing it, i might as well.
Shammy’s can be fun :D I forgot if your horde or alliance… That change is really going to be a pain. Luckily I don’t play WoW anymore so it won’t be a problem :D
Helena – Totally understand that haha. I keep telling my other half that if we can’t ween the games back a bit i’ll just get preggers….see if that doesn’t cut into his gaming time haha
