Tea on Social Media (Facebook Lists)
Greetings Friends,
For those of you who don’t know, Facebook has a nifty feature called “Interest Lists” wherein individuals can create Lists that act as feeds for topics of their choice. Other people, in turn, can subscribe to these lists.
These are quite functional. If you subscribe to a List, the best content from that list will show up in your news feed.
I have created a List, aptly named “Tea” that I encourage interested people to explore. I have only included the people and companies that post the most interesting content to social media (my apologies Lipton): https://www.facebook.com/lists/10100975436075240
In particular, I would like your advice on curating this List. What are some active and interesting tea companies on social media that I can add? I am seeking the best content: not the pages that blindly harp on their newest product, but those pages that share interesting photos, quotes, facts, stories, contests, et cetera.
Thank you all sincerely for your input.
Cheers,
Hugo
This is great! I like that you don’t have to “like” a page in order to subscribe to it. I try to keep my FB friends & likes minimal and manageable, but still want to be “in the loop”
I’d suggest:
Samovar
https://www.facebook.com/samovarlife
Lupicia
https://www.facebook.com/LUPICIAUSA
Thank you for the input Janefan. Per your recommendation, I am adding these pages to the List.
Let me know if you find other suitable content. Remember: We are only seeking the very best social media content—otherwise, we fear the list will become unmanageable.
Here’s another good one:
https://www.facebook.com/worldoftea
(This is by the owner of the former Chicago Tea Garden. The shop has closed, but his blog/FB are still active. Lots of good info.)
oh, and maybe Andrews & Dunham (if you’re not offended/concerned about their use of the D-word) since that seems to be the only way to find out when they release a new tea (a rare, but much heralded event) https://www.facebook.com/damnfinetea
I’m familiar with Andrews and Dunham—their language doesn’t bother me, it’s all part of their unique brand. I had originally put them on the list, but I noticed they didn’t post anything, so I removed them. I will re-add. Thanks!
Hugo, I would love it if you would take a look at my blog and see if it fits in with the list you are compiling. www.joysteaspoon.com/blog
You have been added to the list—remember to subscribe to the list as well. The more subscribers there are, the more exposure the list gets—so casual tea drinkers will be able to find the list easier and explore the best content in tea.
Aloha, I am starting up a tea business right now in Hawaii called Tealet. Our mission is to leverage community and technology to build bridges between tea growers and drinkers. We are very active on social media, I recommend that you check out our facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Tealet)
Aloha Elyse,
Tealet has an interesting premise—we wish you success! I will add your Page to the list.
We at Hugo Tea would be very interested in hearing more about Tealet: There is undoubtedly a great opportunity to add value here, if some major hurdles can be overcome.
I will private message you.
Thanks!
Hello there,
What a wonderful idea! We now have a very active blog on our website called Tea Talk & Tips which you can see at http://blog.innteas.com/. These blogs are also posted to our In Nature Teas Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/innteas where we also share details of our tastings and the occasional tea-related picture! It would be great if you could consider adding us :)

We would love to be added if we fit into your list. Our facebook is: https://www.facebook.com/butikiteas. Our blog is: http://butikiteas.blogspot.com/. We do contests, photos, updates and occasionally write articles though we plan on doing more articles in the future.
Splendid! We’ll make sure you get on the list—make sure to subscribe to the list yourself, and pass the word to your customers.
Cheers!
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. Remember to subscribe to the list yourself, and remind your customers and friends about the lists. This is a great way to introduce people to your brand.
