Teavana 2012 Discontinued Teas
Ughhhhh. I finally got my confirmation for my order I made 3 days ago and more than half the teas I ordered are missing. Plus, it doesnt look like they used my GC after all. Did this happen to anyone else?
Ouch. I think Gift Cards have been experiencing issues as of late so you’re not alone there, but I haven’t seen anything about missing parts of orders. Are they still charging you the same amount?
I got my confirmation email the next morning and another a few hours later that it had shipped. Looks like everything was in there. Maybe try calling them?
Last year I ordered a lb of Raspberry Soiree with my order and it was missing from the shipment and the invoice, it got sent almost a month later. Good luck!
That’s crazy, I got my confirmation right away and the box the next day. I’ve heard some horror stories about their customer service though, you think they would have been more prepared for a big sale like this :/
I had them cancel an order on me last year. I had ordered a few things from the sale, and then decided to place one more order. I got a confirmation, and then a few days later…cancelled. I usually have no problems, and fast shipping from them. This last order is still sitting “confirmed” but not shipped, which isn’t my usual experience. I am now wondering if they are going to cancel it. I’ll be bummed if they do. :( (I do tend to get the shipping notices after I already have the package in hand, though…so here’s hoping…) Good luck!!!
same for me, order confirmed on christmas morning, yet not shipped yet. I just sent them an email.
To those missing a confirmation email – they seem to have trouble sending those out, but their support tells me all shipments have left on normal schedule. I ordered on 12/25 and mine shipped 12/26, scheduled to arrive 01/02.
Contact their support or tweet them to get your tracking number if you didn’t get one.
Thanks so much that puts me at ease a little. I will try calling them tomorrow.
I never got a ship confirmation. Just the initial order confirmation. But the tea (ordered Christmas evening) arrived Friday.
Oi….I placed an online order for some of my discounted favorites and realized I’d forgotten to add one I really wanted to the shopping cart. I thought I’d pop in the store and JUST get that. Psshh. Nope. Totally went nuts got waaayyy too much (those damn gift sets at 75% off were irresistible), plus my order that’s en route. I am officially set for tea for LIFE.
I fell in love with a gift set online last night. I shouldn’t have hemmed over it, and just gotten it. It’s gone from the site now. :(
(In all honesty? I am still drinking a tea from last year’s sale…I went crazy last year!)
If you have a store by you, you should check it out. They had several sets when I went in. And I know what you mean…I will be drinking this tea for FOREVER haha.
Can anyone tell me if Copper Knot Hongcha was discontinued? I just finished up the last of mine, and I really enjoy this one. I know it might be off of the site because it’s just out of stock. I also don’t see it on the list above. Going to Teavana requires a road trip for me, but I might for that one! :)
I’m pretty sure it’s still around, but it’s been well over 2 months since I went into a store to say for sure. Maybe give that store a call tomorrow and find out? Especially if everything is really on sale like some people have been saying in their tasting notes. Better to be for sure and then make the trip, I once drove 4 hours to the next closest Ikea in order to get the TV stand my boyfriend wanted…good times. I’d do it for tea any time haha.
I ordered a bunch of teas a few days ago, didn’t get a confirmation at all. I looked on the site and it said my order is ready to ship, but doesn’t give any details. Also, most of the teas I ordered are missing from the site now, but none are on the list of discontinued teas. Hopefully I’ll get them all without a problem.
I hope this doesn’t sound rude, but I am glad I am not the only one. When I go to look at my order, most of it is not detailed, as those teas are removed from the site right now. I know that I am impatient, so I’m really hoping it’s just me. :) (I just wish I’d get some sort of notice…the local driver will just leave them in the snow if I don’t run out to get them. I don’t want my teas left in the snow!!! Auurrrggg!!!)
That could be a song. ♫♪Someone left the tea out in the snow…♫♪
Anyway, hopefully it’s just an error and it will be sorted out. I really want that tea. Just bought a new teapot to go with it.
That would be the saddest song ever…
Here’s hoping that in a few days, you’ll be pouring your new teas from your new teapot!!!
Hey guys – I also never got a confirmation email, but their Twitter team let me know that shipments did leave as scheduled and was able to give me a tracking number for my order. I ordered on 12/25 and it’s scheduled to arrive 01/02, but I also paid a bit more for better shipping.
I’d suggest tweeting them (
Teavana) if you want your tracking number. They're much faster than their normal customer service. You can still email <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="mailto:shopteavana.com">[email protected] if Twitter doesn’t respond for some reason.
This is honestly pretty ridiculous. I also contacted them on Facebook and got some response, but no tracking number. Oy.
Huh. I ordered on the 25th and it is scheduled to get here on the 3rd. I choose the regular cheapest shipping option thinking I had the patience to wait. Turns out I don’t, but I can’t change it now. It makes me wonder how much faster the speedier option really is if 5oclockJake’s is arriving only one day ahead.
Wow, I ordered on the 25th, chose the cheapest shipping option; it shipped on the 27th, and it was delivered on the 28th! I only ordered 2 teas, so maybe the simple order got put together quickly.
Yeah I think I’ll stick to regular shipping in the future. Oh well, live and learn.
So tempted to order a bunch of teas since they’re so cheap. But I’m close to broke and the only 2 teas from Teavana I have tried I didn’t like… If I resist temptation a little longer all the teas I was thinking about buying will be out of stock.
Looks like you resisted long enough! I went to the site today and all I saw left on sale was teaware. You can come out now. :)
Hehe I went to the site and my bag was empty, all the teas I wanted to buy sold out.
Now i think I’ll go to Adagio and buy some tea to reward myself for my self control.
Hopefully my orders will arrive complete. When I look at my order history on their site I’m missing ALOT of my order. It says shipped but haven’t received email confirmation with the tracking to know for sure.
It is the same on my order also! It has the tin and the sample, but not my tea…I wonder if they’re having trauma?
I’m having a similar problem, though mine is worrying me since I don’t have ANYTHING listed. It says 4 items (I ordered 6), but when I click on the order number, it gives me a page not found error.
They’re re-SKUing many items, which is affecting past orders on the website. Your order should ship correctly, according to their support.
Did anyone else notice how few teas they listed on their site? There are currently only 5 green teas and 8 black. There used to be A LOT more, and I don’t think the ones missing are only the discontinued teas. Strange.
Also, the last two years (end of 2010, 2011) the on-line tea sales went on for over a month (or until they ran out of that particular tea, I presume). This year, by Friday (I think) there were no more teas on sale. Again, strange.
Maybe its a sign big changes are in the works.
Quite a few of the mate teas are missing as well, which worries me specifically because that’s mostly what I ordered. I don’t know what’s going on with them.
Some are listed again but showing out of stock. Earl grey creme for example is listed at normal price but out of stock. They told me they were getting ready for new harvest for lots of teas. However, did anyone notice a few new online exclusives like bananas foster in the herbal section?
That would be my assumption…however, there are other teas that are still listed that just say “Sold Out”, so I don’t know. Hopefully they were removed in error and will be back.
Interestingly enough I went on-line to what they call their ‘Tea Wall’ http://www.teavana.com/tea-wall
and at a glance, it looks complete. I can chose Gyokuro Imperial, and it takes me to a web page with a layout I have not seen before (maybe its new?). But when I try to click on the red “BUY NOW” button, it appears the page does not exist, and it takes me elsewhere. They must be working on the website.
Weird. Maybe it’s just an error… or they somehow ended up getting taken down by mistake. The same thing happened to Scarlet Cloud (while it’s a tea that will be discontinued) it was gone and then back on the site for another day, and now gone for good, it seems.
The idea that it’s probably just a site glitch, is pretty solid though. With all the issues on gift card, orders, and the like. I wouldn’t put it past them.
It seems that the ones that are missing show up on the wall, but then when you click to buy them, it can’t find the regular listing page, but if you click on ones that are still listed on the site, it works fine. Hopefully someone just messed up while trying to redesign the site, but it seems like a really stupid time to do it.
I noticed that last night their site was also down for at least 4 hours. Revamp mid-sale seems odd to me too. I’m confused why all the teas are still on sale in stores, but not online; it seems counterproductive.
There were a few teas listed on their site in November that were online only. They had no clue what I was talking about when I went in. My only guess is that they were teas from one of the recent buy outs. Teopia maybe? I looked for them when I was making an order for this sale, but they were gone. I’m hoping I didn’t miss out and that they reblend them. Mudslide Rooibos, Caramelissimo Black, Coconut Cream Green, Cactus Fig Green and Creamy Nut Oolong were the ones I made note of.
I know, right?! I’m dying for more decaf options! There are steepster reviews for it here…
They started renaming some of the teaopia ones, the mudslide one is now Chocolate Bananas Foster or something like that
Yes, big changes. Sorry, guys – from what I understand, the first order of business for SBUX is recalling everything to the distribution center for re-SKUing into the SBUX system. Bad timing maybe, but what can you do – guess it has to be done sometime, best to get it out of the way immediately. We’ve been sent new stuff to the store already, but I don’t know what will be happening online.
I don’t know if I’m supposed to tell you that, but we’ve already told a bunch of people in-store that our stock is low as a combination of this and the sale – new stock doesn’t go out until after inventory today. Possibly the website will look better by the 1st.
Also Dustin2Dust – yes, those are Teaopia teas (part of Teaopia’s Top 20 kept in the acquisition), and they are only in-store at locations which were previously Teaopia. We’re all hoping they stay through the SBUX acquisition as well.
Wouldn’t make much sense to acquire a tea company like Teaopia if you didn’t plan on keeping some of their best teas. The resku makes sense as well. I just don’t see Starbucks paying so much for a premium tea company and then taking the teas away. They did leave the executives in place. You buy something successful and let it continue being successful. That’s how you play the game.
You might want to go search for the thread titled something like “Specialteas is gone?!?!” Teavana has no idea of sense when it comes to acquisitions. It’s more like taking down the competition through buying them out.
Yes, but they did seemingly reblend and rename some of the better selling teas…perhaps making online exclusives to drive the website, or to determine popularity.
Daniel, I had seen those teas on the website a month ago. Do you know if they are not going to sell them online anymore? If not, is there no way to get them other than going into a location that was once Teaopia?
Also, does anyone know of or have a list of the 20 Teaopia teas Teavana was keeping?
I would like to know this list as well. Their facebook page with the information is no more.
So where did the Strawberry Cream White tea come from? I don’t see anything on that list that is even close. And there’s a bananas foster and mudslide as well…but the mudslide is currently sold out, yet they are two different teas. So where did these others come from?
At this point I wonder if they even know, lol. For the longest time you had to actually search the name of the Teaopia tea to even find it on the website, they weren’t listed under the categories.
I would just be happy if they could tell me if the strawberry cream is a permanent online tea or if it’s going away…so I would know if I need to buy a pound of it or not.
:\ Guys…no promises about the availability of the Teaopia teas. They were ALL on clearance recently…
Strawberry Cream White is new, I believe, and will be out in stores in January.
Yeah, I can confirm at this point that the old Teaopia teas are discontinued; we spent the afternoon today calling people on our tea/merch waiting list to let them know. Sorry guys!
So the strawberry cream white wasn’t a Teaopia tea and is in fact new? I hope this is in stores by mid-month, as I’ll be visiting a city with a store. I have a half pound, but it will give me an excuse to drop by for more.
They told me they were online exclusives so perhaps they are keeping them. There are some different ones like strawberry cream, which is a white tea and not Rooibos like teaopia had.
Oh and they had a mudslide that’s sold out at the moment, and bananas foster as well that’s still there.
Just received my shipping notice!!! All my teas are on the order – the website order view still has stuff missing – probably because they are no longer listed on the website (but that’s weird!) You would think that your order history would be complete whether they still have the product or not.
I hope they get more in stock as I received a GC that I want to use for more but prefer ordering from the site due to the sealed packages.
