Has anyone else been watching The Pond Life mini-episodes as a lead-up to new Doctor Who on Saturday?! Eeee!

Sil select said

hell yes!

Yes, too cute!

forsythia said

Is it being aired in the States? I haven’t noticed it on the BBC channel so far. There have been some Dr. Who specials lately tho. Looking forward to Saturday, too!

Pond Life are little online shorts leading up to the sequel, I found them via the FB page but you could probably find them either on the website or just searching YouTube. New series airs Sept. 1st everywhere!

Oh noes last one is not so funny :/

Yes! If anyone is looking for them you can find them on the doctorwho tumblr page as well. So excited that I won’t have to go searching for downloads this year, thank you BBC America.

Asylum of the Daleks tonight!

Seriously cannot wait! I was just texting the husband asking when he might be done with work. We do not have cable (just Netflix) and he refuses to watch at my mom’s house, so he downloads the episodes, yes yes piracy and all that, if iTunes was more prompt about things we would buy a season pass. Sometimes we are able to watch the same night it airs, if we don’t tomorrow is going to be a long torturous day.

They have all the Matt Smith episodes online on the PSN if you have a Playstation. They seem to run for approximately 2 dollars an episode – but I don’t know if/how they’ll keep up with the new ones. Don’t worry, I am certainly not going to hassle you about piracy though! : )

So what did everyone think of the episode last night? Surprise ending as usual.

Uniquity said

I had some trouble staying awake so need to re-watch it, but I found it wasn’t the strongest season opener. I did really enjoy the interaction with Oswyn though, that was a big surprise for me. Can’t wait to see where Moffat takes it!

Very interesting, she was certainly the highlight of the episode and I’m looking forward to her returning. I’m amazed that the community and press kept the surprise. Amy was ticking me off (and I’m not an Amy hater) her and Rory’s resolution was worth it, maybe. Moffat sure does love to toy with us but I hope he doesn’t overly rely on gags. I was a bit worried about the Doctor “Who” thing, but if they’re taking it in the direction i think they are, it might be okay. I’m excited for next week Arthur Weasley as Rory’s dad? Yes please! With Filch and Detective Lestrade no less!

Definitely Doctor Who! My hubby has purchased so many copies of the Colin Firth/Jennifer Ehle Pride and Prejudice. First the VHS tapes, then the tapes with the book, then just two tapes, then DVD, then DVD with making of…

We used to watch Good Neighbors, Lovejoy, My Hero. We love Downtown Abbey. How about Fawlty Towers? Had to get that on DVD! Definitely Monty Python! Hubby liked Red Dwarf. Love British TV!

We love Top Gear, Sherlock, Dr. Who, Rebus (is it still on), Downton Abbey, Pride and Prejudice, etc in our house! Always with a cup of tea.

I caught the first episode of season one of Sherlock by accident (and I NEVER just have the TV on anything unless I know I want to watch) and I LOVED it. I watched it a second time right after they finished playing it the first time… I think I’ve done that with all the episodes though.

I also love a bunch of the Masterpiece — Tess of the D’Urbervilles was very accurate to the book except for three smaller details… I was thinking of it today, actually. Great Expectations this year was good. Birdsong was good too but they used Angel Clare from Tess which ruined it for me. Jack was my favorite from the book and TV edition anyway.

Inspector Spacetime. muhaha. Doctor Who seems like a ton of work, but Inspector Spacetime requires none. :D

Uniquity said

Oh man, Inspector Spacetime. While I’m clearly a huge Whovian, I LOVE Community!

Yes, I don’t think I have ever or will ever love a show as much as I love Community. And I love a bunch of shows. Different things remind me of that show at least ten times a day.

Uniquity said

We’ve got them on DVD and despite only having watched it for the last year or so (we were late to the game) we’ve seen the whole thing at least 3 times straight through. I don’t mind watching it over and over. A little concerned about the next season without Dan Harmon though.

Definitely! I was just rewatching some of the episodes from season one a couple days ago. I bought season three the day it came out. I’ve never done that before! That was mainly to support Dan Harmon’s last season though. I know it won’t be the same. No one will love that show like Dan Harmon did!

Uniquity said

Crud, I didn’t realize season three was finally out on DVD, we just have one and two. To the store! Well, tomorrow. It’s a holiday in NS today. : )

I personally have always loved the comedy “Are You Being Served?” Hilarious!

Nik select said

Me too! Mum ‘n’ I used to watch it together when I was little. It wasn’t until much later that I thought back and realised it might not have been entirely appropriate for a child. =P

I ADORE Are You Being Served? I own a few seasons on DVD!

Did the American side announce which stories would be on new episodes of Masterpiece yet? Don’t they usually start in the fall?

Season finale of Dr. Who starts in a little under two hours! Amy and Rory – :( They’ve been having a mini marathon today since 3pm. I still love the one where Amy finds out who River Song really is.

Uniquity said

I’m still mentally preparing myself – by the end of the next hour, my favourite companion will be gone, one way or another. : (

Janefan said

I just watched “The Power of Three” so I’d be caught up to watch the finale as it airs. I usually DVR them and get around to it whenever, but this is an event. I love Amy Pond too, and already have mixed feelings about the new girl… but I understand that the Ponds can’t be the companions forever (nor can Matt Smith be the Doctor forever). But it’s the cast that got me into the show — none of the others have “clicked” for me.

forsythia said

Well….I’m not sure how I feel. The episode was so fast paced (as usual) I didn’t get a chance to be sad at the end. Plus I didn’t get the feeling it was as permanent as it was made to sound. Sure gonna take time to get used to the new companion tho.

Uniquity said

Cried continuously through the last five minutes BUT it was the best episode this year for me.
