I just looked into the bear mug myself. I was reading this thread and saw the note about the bear mug. I stopped what I was doing, said, “Bear mug?!”…and I’m sure my coworkers think I’m nuts. (The toys on my desk and tea everywhere don’t help matters).
It’s so cute and a great idea! I’m adding it to my Christmas list…which becomes the award-myself-for-good-deeds-even-if-it’s-only-letting-a-car-with-its-blinker-on-in-front-of-you list WAY before the holiday season!
I got the fox one but I want more. The little hedgehog one is adorable! Ahh curse you DT.
I know what you mean. I think, OK, no tea for two weeks. Then DT comes along with their fall collection and cute mugs… I’d love one of their perfect mugs, but I’m trying to hold out until Christmas so it’s an option for the holidays.
Also, I’m not a big fan of the designs, there isn’t one that I have to have (unlike the bear mug).
I just jinxed myself, I know. In October I bet they’ll have awesome ones for the holidays and I will give in to temptation.
if they had a wolf one I’d be in further trouble.
I’m also starting to feel bad about my impulse buy now.. its the first time I ever really made a big impulse purchase :/ but I haven’t received it yet so hopefully I’ll feel better when it comes hah
@CupofTree – yeah, a wolf one would immediately become part of my ever growing mug collection. Two would actually – one for work and one for home!
@KeenTeaThyme or a frog haha, love your frog icon by the way
Well, crud looks like a Davids order is in the making…
Oh cool whatd you get?
Im still waiting for mine! I hope to get everything tomorrow :D
I ordered the Fall Collection, an extra 50g bag of Toasted Marshmallow, 50g each of Davids Darjeeling, Cold 911 and Organic Cherry Cola (which does not seem to have great reviews…so we’ll see).
My command on the way too ( today if i believe purolator tracking info yay! ) can’t wait to have my dry leaf bubble teacup ( perfect to go with my gaiwan ) some pumkin chai , banana bread and toasted marshmallow in there also too bad i see the mugtail link to late or some bear and hedgehog would’ve have been there for sure ( thank Amanda for the link btw ) if i find some of them realy good i sure hope the collectible bin would still be available
When we first started getting in to tea, I swore I would never buy teaware from DT, it seemed so expensive! $20 for a mug? You’ve got to be kidding me.
Cut to now, two years later, as I sit with my purple Nordic teapot, matching cups, pink bubble tea set with matching cups, watercolor birds bubble tea set with matching cups, green bubble tea cups, the deer mugtail that came out a year or so ago and a bear mugtail on the way. Not to mention the 7 perfect tea mugs we own and the kids leakproof travel mug. I don’t regret any of it and they all see a lot of use, especially in winter. That’s also the danger of working near a Davids and getting a 10% discount. But I love and use every piece of it and considering how well made they are and what a great company Davids is, it doesn’t feel expensive anymore at all.
Thanks for your post Bigelow :) Its nice to know you don’t regret your spendings on DT teaware.
It was kinda funny/scary that when I saw the new forest teaware, I didn’t even consider the prices and just immediately added them all to my cart. I have never done that before and I know I won’t be repeating that either because there isn’t much forest related teaware out there..
They should finally be arriving today!
Lol, ya how does teaware accumulate so quickly?? I have the gongfu pot with double walled cups, 2 perfect mugs, Trilimono, the press, the iced tea mug, and a clear teapot with metal infuser.
And then not from DT: a tea-for-one set, and a whole teapot and cups set.
And I am the only one in my house that drinks tea!
I would buy Anything of Davids teas over Teavana, went to the store yesterday and they didn’t even have the paper filters and then they tried to sell me the more expensive inserts, I came strait home ( after hitting the candy store) And ordered some filters from Davids!!
Ok so it came Friday and I love everything! Most notably the forest mug, which is simply the best mug ever made.
Here’s a pic of the set, wish I had a better photo, but I don’t have my real camera gear right now.

I like the pinecones. It’s a nice touch ;)
thanks they’re always the centerpiece on the table lol :)
Oh, I thought you added them just for the picture – LOL
well i Love the cat in the background staring out into the mist lol great touch!! Makes me want the set SOO CUTE!!!
thanks Sare :) I haven’t used the pot and bubble cups yet but I definitely love the set and probably won’t find anything else like it again. I highly recommend the forest mug. :)
They do really look nice i already have the dry branch set so i was not gonna buy that one but oooh the temptation after seeing your picture lol will definitively buy that set before they remove it for another seasonal set but how to hide it in my house so no one know i bought yet another teaware
Ohhh now I want to order them!! Ahh but I just got the nobel perfect mug & travel mug not too long ago… and a gorgeous green teapot for my birthday (although that was last December… ;)). AHHHHHH. hahah!
@Zoltar thanks for the compliment :) you should definitely buy the set! the dry branch one is nice too.
@Holls I bought a small forest green teapot not too long before the forest teaware came out but I just couldn’t stop myself from getting these from DT. and hey, december was a long time ago :)
My Fiancé surprised me with the new fox mug! I love it!:)
I got one for myself and it’s a new favorite. :)
Has anyone done a direct comparison between last year’s pumpkin chai and this years? It appears that the ingredient list has changed on steepster, this year’s having the addition of carrot, squash, and lemon peel. I’m curious how they compare! The new additions seem pretty tasty. And if I recall my batch from last year has orange peel rather than lemon.
Crap, saw the tweet from DT – They brought back Mom’s Apple Pie as online exclusive!

I’ve been hording a small stash from last year, I can drink it and order more! HHAHHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA!
So. I’m a little disappointed in the fall collection. There seemed to be a bit of lack of actual tea. Lots of apple bits and such, and not a lot of tea. Most of these don’t add to the flavor at all, just add weight. Felt a little bit cheated. I guess I’ll be a little more picky with the blends I pick.
Which ones have you tried? I found the pumpkin chai to have alot of leaves. I’m waiting on my persian apple to come yet.
Persian apple is weighty but does taste great, pumpkin chai and toasted marshmallow are lighter with lots of leaves.
Banana Nut Bread (which I get, it’s an herbal, but it’s so weighty!), Persian Apple, I think I tried all of them… Had to check, Toasted Marshmallow doesn’t have much either at least in my bag I seem to have gotten a boatload of marshmallows and not much else. The pumpkin chai is good, and I like Indian Summer for iced tea, and there are an okay amount of leaves. Eh, I just probably won’t order another pack like that unless it’s more “tea” based. I’ll just stick to picking out individual teas.
so far I only tried the Toasted Marshmallow which I was rather disappointed with. it didn’t taste like I thought it would and for some reason it tasted like apples. have to try again… :/
AH!!! They sent a sample of banana nut but I haven’t tried it yet. I can imagine it doesn’t have much tea. My Toasted Marshmallow does have alot of marshmallows but I did have quite a bit of leaves. Should’ve sent you some in the travel box! I kinda view that one and the Red Velvet like a dessert tea and don’t expect much leaf. My mom liked the pumpkin one but thought I should’ve added some sugar. I’m trying to cut back on adding sugar.
Typically, the seasonal collections contain a lot of additives and not much tea – although the winter ones can be a better, maybe because they tend to be more ‘pure’ tea related for bold winter flavours? I understand the appeal of buying the “collection” but if you can get to a store, you’re typically better off going in and buying them as you wish. Cheaper and you can see the tea first! : )
I’d love to go to a store but the closest one is in NY and that’s a wee bit far. :)
I got the fox mug for my b-day!
AWWW YAY!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
