I’m probably about to go this route for chai. The ones I have bought just aren’t so good.

There is no comparison. Most commercial chais are so watered down. There are some great loose leaf/granule tea chai blends. If you have the time, just make a moderately sized dry spice mix on one day and store it in the fridge. That stuff stays potent for at least 6 months. Mine started losing it’s edge after a year, so I would punch up the kick with some fresh cracked black peppercorn. Time for me to make a new batch. :)
