Teapot infuser?

Oh! There’s also something called a tea sock. It’s a reusable cloth filter so you can fit it in any pot! Might be harder to remove if the leaves get really big though. I’ve never tried them myself so I can’t speak for performance but it’s another option.

look at a Chatsford teapot. Upton tea has a good selection and will sometimes have an Internet special. the infuser basket is almost as large as the belly of the teapot and even the smallest leaves will be contained. of all my teapots, my Chatsford is the one I use on a regular basis.

leave a tip of the bag hanging out over the side and hold on to that when you swirl the bag?

I actually use one of the tea maker things (Perfect Tea Maker, ingenuiTea, etc) to steep the tea, then I put it into the teapot. I’ve noticed that the baskets/socks/whatever don’t always provide ample room for the teas I have.

The other reason I do this is because my cups are smaller than the tea maker, so putting it in a teapot, then onto a warmer works really well for me.
