Cute idea… as for Persimmon Tree Tea I would have to say either Mandarin Silk or Green Caramel. Its a hard choice. Actually there are a few others that would rank up there.
I LOVED and I mean LOVED the Coconut Cream sample I tired but I think I got a bad tin when I bought it so I tossed it out. I then got another sample again from a friend here and it was AWESOME lol so I don’t know what happened to my tin but hey things happen. No biggie. I have loved 90% of the teas from you I have tried! The others were not bad – just not my cup of tea haha.
The Lotus was really quite good too!

One day we hope to get it to 100% :)

Trying the green caramel that Azzrian sent me. Don’t get how she calls it a sample but I’m not complaining

Azzrian said

:) hope you like it lol if not just feel free to share with others! :)

Hmm.. interesting thread. I went to a vegan restaurant a couple weeks ago and if you purchased a hot tea, they let you take as many Stash tea bags as you want. I got a chance to try some Stash flavors I otherwise would not have, like Mojito Mint!

Azzrian said

Wow that is an insane deal! How cool!

Nice! I want Stash’s holiday teas to come out so I can have my White Christmas tea back. :)

Wow, that is cool!

Oh! The Stash Mojito Mint is my favorite from them.. though of course I couldn’t have tried them all.

Wow, where was this?

Babble said

It was at a place in Orlando called Ethos. We went for their Sunday brunch. Got to try vegan canadian bacon for the first time.

Batrachoid said

Awesome, I planned on going home to Miami next year and pass through Orlando. I hope they stay in business.

Babble said

Considering the long wait for brunch, I’m pretty sure they’ll be in business ;)

Actually the place is technically in Winter Park, which is very close to Orlando. They used to be in Orlando, but have since moved to a much easier location for parking.

Also, I’d recommend stopping by Dandelion Communitea cafe, which is another veg*n place with some awesome teas. It’s a little more “hippie” than Ethos and has some neat herbal blends. They both are cool, though.

And if you have a LOT of time, there’s also Infusion Tea in the College Park area that also is veg*n and sells loose tea. But they are pricey and their food is meh. Also, they store their tea in large glass jars. For shame!

(Ironically, I am NOT a vegan or vegetarian – I just admire the lifestyle and love going out to eat at all these places. It’s hard to go anywhere nowadays and be sure that you’ll be getting a ton of vegetables with your meal)

When I was in sixth grade (many moons ago) there was a persimmon tree near my school. One day a couple of boys decided to pick some of the green persimmons. The science teacher caught them and made each of the boys take a bite out of the persimmon while standing in front of the class. I will never forget their faces!

I had no idea there was an actual Persimmon Tree. nice to know, thanks for sharing!

Okay I love that story, hilarious!

Poetic justice, eh?
When I was 16 my family moved from San Diego to wasola, Missouri, which was pretty much in the middle of nowhere in the ozarks. Major culture shock for this little hippie girl! Anyways, they bought a farm on 75 acres, & there were persimmon trees all over the place. Even the most astringent of teas can’t hold a candle to a persimmon!

Honeysuckle. Love that stuff. I’ve never figured out why you don’t offer Persimmon teas though.

You figure we would, right? The Persimmon Tree… and no Persimmon tea..huh? Future tea possibilities.

Speaking of new teas. We will be featuring some new flavors soon. No word on when exactly but soon… exciting!

I’m addicted to Peach Picnic from Persimmon Tree. It’s terrific iced, it’s terrific warm, it’s superb hot. I’m hooked on it. Open up the IV.

I went to a tea tasting the other day and the girl was telling us all about tea. She then told everyone that rooibos was from the same plant as green, white, oolong, etc… but just from different regions… I questioned her about it and she just brushed it off and never really answered me back. Isn’t rooibos a herbal tea? Isn’t it from a completely different plant?

You are correct. Rooibos does NOT come from the camellia sinensis. Although you may see the word “tea” next to it depending on where you are shopping, only products made from the camellia sinensis can truly be called teas. Many people use the word tea even when talking about a tisane (herbal non tea products) since it is the most commonly known term.

Babble said

Yeah, that was definitely incorrect. Rooibos (also known as Red Bush) does come from a different region than other teas do (like China, Japan, India, etc.), but it’s definitely NOT from the same plant.

KallieBoo! said

That’s what I thought! I didn’t want to correct her in front of everyone :/ But I’m sad she is misinforming everyone..

Babble said

I hear a lot of tea misinformation. I’m always too scared to correct most people, because I don’t want to sound like a know-it-all.

It gets even trickier when you talk about caffeine. That’s where I’m a little sketchy. They can never make up their minds on how much caffeine tea has, especially when compared to coffee.

KallieBoo! said

I know :[ That’s how I feel too. But I feel like if you’re going to do a tea tasting class then you should know a little more about tea.

Babble said

Yeah, if it was a tea tasting class information is important.

But, like, if I hear someone at Teavana say it I would probably brush it off.

Oops, were these posts supposed to relate to Persimmon Tree Tea? If so, here’s another one:

I just tasted and reviewed your Ruby Orange last night. This is probably my favorite orange rooibos blend. I’ve been disappointed with rooibos orange blends time and time again. They smell lovely but have no taste. The Ruby Orange was actually better iced than hot!

Fruit teas are awesome! and no, posts don’t necessarily have to be about The Persimmon Tree but we do like when customers like what they get from us and write about it. It’s our life’s goal. Thanks!

I was working my last group art therapy session, quitting the job to move out of the country. I often drank my own loose leaf teas to keep my calm, as these sessions can become chaos and lots of clean up. My clients gave me art work they done, photos of the city they took and they gave me tea that we all drank together – was a white peachy tea.

My mother in law recently had to go on a very strict diet, which suggested she drink one cup of green tea a day. She REALLY hates tea. But she’s making herself do it. Last night I brought over a few loose leaf teas that I thought might make it easier for her taste wise. Genmaicha, jasmine green, and a blend. She didn’t LIKE any of them, but said they were better than what she had been drinking and it wouldn’t be quite so bad if she drank those. I also suggested she buy spring water for her tea. I personally made her the tea, and I felt it vastly inferior compared to when I make it with spring water at home. Hopefully by the end of her diet she won’t have such animosity towards tea!

Azzrian said

Maybe she would like a flavored tea more?

Rellybob said

I’m pretty sure she would, but I don’t have any for her try. Artificial flavoring gives me headaches. :( Thats why I thought she may like the jasmine; it has lots of flavor!

Azzrian said

I could send some she may like. PM me and let me know what she would normally drink if you want. Green Caramel from The Persimmon Tree may just get her! :)

Rather than an infused or scented green tea you may want to get some natural blends. Depending on her palate there are some nice options out there that are 100% natural.

Hey Rellyrob, We would definitely like to help out too. Go to www.persimmontreetea.com and pick a tea you think she may like or may be helpfull for her diet. PM me with the tea name and address of where to send it and we will be sure to get it to her. all we ask is that you write a review about it on our site and of course in our lovely Steepster community. ;)

Rellybob said

Oh wow very generous! I will have her take a look! :)

Great! let me know when you are ready.

Rellybob said

Messaged you, Persimmon Tree! :)

Rellybob said

Wow thanks for the offer!! I will ask her exactly how strict her diet is first- she wouldn’t try the genmaicha because it had rice in it! She will probably want to look up what’s in flavoring these days. :)

Azzrian said

Offer is open if you and she decide its a good idea to try! :)

Babble said

If she allowed any sweetener at all in her teas? It doesn’t have to be sugar – agave, stevia, etc? Sweetener might help ease the “icky” taste.

Also, I would suggest you give her a tea with a strong flavor, like mint or hibiscus.

Rellybob said

She is allowed stevia or sucralose. At the moment to be able to drink tea I’m pretty sure she goes pretty heavy on the stevia, lol. The tea she ended up keeping from me is a green tea blend with mint and lemongrass.
