My favorite tea of the moment is Twinings Apple Spice Chai. It’s perfect for the lovely fall days I’ve been waking up to. Persimmon Tree tea is new to me and I’d love to try some of your teas. Thanks for this opportunity to try it for free!

Posting from my iPad in the bubble bath (I know, it’s really ridiculous, huh?)

I’ve never tried persimmon tree teas…yet!
Looking forward to checking them out!

And a great program it is!
I LOVE your rewards program!

Pretty sure I don’t qualify, and my blog is mostly about food anyway…but I LOVE your website.

Azzrian, you are the best! We love all your positive feedback!
Rebecca, can you post a link to your blog? We’ll check it out and see if you can qualify. Never say never:)

Here’s my blog! Sometimes I bake with matcha and chai, but that’s about it. http://www.adustingofsugar.com/. I could totally find a way to bake with your tea though.

Interesting tea related story…

Today I had a meeting with my academic advisor and he offered me a tea. Nothing special; Irresistibles brand Lemon-Ginger tisane bag. It wasn’t undrinkable and it was very nice to sip on something while reviewing the statistics for my project. The cool thing is that because I didn’t have a mug with me, he gave me one of his mugs which is actually made of soybean! Extra neat points goes out to the fact that my project is also investigating nutritional properties of soybeans :)

Very happy to add my mug to my very small teaware collection (so kind of him, he said that I could keep it)!

How absolutely cool!!!!! Great story!! I had no idea that soybeans could be used to make mugs or anything like that! Awesome! :)

I had one once that was made of corn too! They end up feeling plastic-y but they are bio-degradable (eventually) and more sustainable than plastic because they are made from the by-products of the food industry. Yay, agriculture to the rescue!! :)

Wow, so it seems just like pottery? Does one add something to them when one wants them to break down?

Raritea said

Hummm… I’ve always assumed that it was kind of like the ‘put it in the ground and in a few years it will be degraded’ type of biodegradable. Don’t know if there’s an enzyme that can make it go quicker.

I’m allergic to your cup, we’ll have warnings on tableware, cups and such. Practical for the environment and funny at the same time. ‘This cup has been processed on equipment shared with peanuts’…and so on.

Raritea said

I had never even thought of that! Good call! It just goes to show that there needs to be lots of thinking surrounding all new products to make sure that they’re safe, even if they’re environmentally-friendly.

I miss the free shipping/no minimum you guys used to have. I understand you had to get rid of it but it might be neat to bring it back one day for a sale :)

Also, any plans to sell your teas outside of tins?

Great suggestion for a sale! For the time being tins are the way to go for us. But soon we will be introducing some new tea flavors and products, and next year possibly even an alternative to the tin. :)

No tins might also make it a bit more affordable to ship outside the us. 25$+ makes it a hard pill to swallow even though I love your teas!

Cool thread! Well recently I have been drinking the Phoenix Mountain Chai from Verdant Tea. It is just so good. I make a brew up over a liter of the stuff for the last couple of days. It’s nice, since I have been so busy with work and school; not to mention the re flooring going on in my house. I still have some many samples to try. Blah! I just can’t wait till the house is finished.

Oh god I love their chai :)

Indeed!

Hey there! One of my absolute favorite teas is TeaSource’s Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls. Every time I drink it (and I’m brewing some now), I’m taken back to last spring, when I realized that the most important things to me weren’t things, but the people that I loved, the places I call home, and the times that everything feels right with the world. I drank this tea with my dear friend one afternoon while we listened to a beautiful new song I’d just discovered (Old Pine by Ben Howard, by the way). The tea and these memories are not two separate things—they’re forever tied to each other. Floral, enchanting, smooth, and soft. This is where I’m happiest.
