Hi, I have one thing to clear up before writing my review. The Milk Chocolate Caramel on your site is a black tea base and the one listed in Steepster is a green tea base. So, which was sent out? I just added a black base to Steepster but I wanted to make sure which was the one I have (it looks black but tasted kind of green to me). I need the other ingredients too, I have allergies to rooibos, honeybush.

There is only a black tea base. We will fix the error.

Bonnie,

just checked the steepster and it shows as a black tea base both in description and marked as black tea. I do not see a green tea based one listed.

I am finding I am surprised by how deep of a cup this is – bold – dark – but definitely a MILK chocolate – its just quite robust. Oh I am having the milk chocolate caramel at the moment by the way.

I’ve never had pepper in a tea (but I might have recently ordered some that I haven’t tried yet). Sounds tasty!

it was a very nice touch, i love dark chocolate candy bars with cayanne pepper so I was not new to such a great combination

Ooh, wish I had tried that one!

I find that the caramel notes come out more in the after taste – they are present in the sip – but they build in the after taste.

I noticed that many people either go the caramel or a honey like flavor that you described. I wonder if it has to do with the type of sweetener used or if one was used at all.

Azzrian said 2012-10-28 16:06:13 -0400

I did not use a sweetener. I feel the honey flavor is still there yet it has tamed since the first time I sampled it.

cuppaT said 2012-10-28 16:08:07 -0400

I tasted honey both with and without added sweetener.

Thats interesting then!

I got a honey/milky note too moreso than straight-up caramel, but it was still quite tasty!

Milk chocolate caramel definitely has the milky feeling/taste!

Small
Azzrian said 2012-10-28 16:07:24 -0400

Indeed it does – very creamy!

Azzrian said 2012-10-28 16:08:09 -0400

Makes me want a bagel and cream cheese lol – its decedent!

steapshoppe said 2012-10-28 16:08:26 -0400

Did you enjoy it? Was the caramel present for you or did you experience more of a honey flavor?

Small
Kiaharii said 2012-10-28 16:09:58 -0400

Hmm. Actually now that you mention it that might be a bit closer, I’m also not sure how much of the chocolate I got. It is tasty though!

Tommy the Toad said 2012-10-28 16:10:02 -0400

I got all caramel goodness when it was unsweet, sweeten and the milk chocolate shows

Small
Kiaharii said 2012-10-28 16:14:29 -0400

I smelled by cup after drinking it all and I can smell the caramel there, didn’t taste it a bunch. Maybe I’m used to a different caramel flavor, more artificial?

Small
Tommy the Toad said 2012-10-28 16:14:58 -0400

Whiskey flavors come through near the end, unsweet and slightly cooled, very nice :)
