Justea has a sale on, it looks like $5-10 off four different packages of tea. I highly recommend their tea, and support them wholeheartedly in their efforts to better the working and financial conditions of tea farmers in Kenya.

I wouldn’t mind buying/splitting some of the Kenyan Black if someone wants to buy any but thinks it’s too much at once for them. And I haven’t tried my Earl Grey sample yet (shame!). I’ll do that tomorrow.

If you need someone to convince you, I LOVE the Kenyan Black. Kenyan tea has a unique flavor… I haven’t tried many others like it and this is good stuff. The chai has some unique ingredients as well, but I guess I just like my boring typical chai ingredients better. I’ll get back to you on the Earl!

The earl greys quite nice if you like bold flavouring in your EG, and the Chai makes me think of gingerbread. I enjoyed all three and could see myself picking up some of all 3 overtime. I got the chai this time, as I have a ton of eg and black teas to work through.

Ah, I’m sipping the Earl right now and it is amazing. I’ll split order some of the Earl & Kenyan black with someone… 100 grams is what.. 40 cups of tea? I’d be happy with 10-15 teaspoons of each…

The Beatles, given your tastes or at least my impression of them from board posts, I think you’d probably enjoy the Kenyan Black. It is a great, unusual tea, with the strength and assertiveness of Indian tea and a comforting classic CTC-ish brewing smell, but a brightness and lightness, freshness I guess is the closest to what I mean, in flavor a little like darjeeling but really, just uniquely its own thing. A magical “zippy” element. It’s lovely and unique.

I think those are great choices. I would definitely have gotten the earl grey if I didn’t already have tonnes of others. I hope you enjoy them.

this one’s great if you’ve been curious about them but deterred by shipping/price—they offer .99 samples (smaller sized than some, mind) of their best teas.

Thank you ifjuly
I didn’t know about it. I thought that I have to buy sample sets but some teas I was just not interested in. Then it’s a great deal . Too bad they don’t have honey orchid as a sample

According to http://www.freeshippingday.com/, these companies have free shipping (to US) with delivery by Christmas Eve:

The Puri Tea looks like it’s going out of business so 30% off and free shipping with code BYE. Not a lot left, but . . . http://www.thepuritea.com/?SSAID=236128

The Tea District with code FreeShipDay http://www.teadistrict.com/

Revolution Tea with code FREESHIP18 http://www.revolutiontea.com/ (mostly tea bags vs loose tea)

oh no! Not the puritea! Anyone know how big their samples are?

Nevermind.. I saw a tasting note from Terri Harplady that said the sample is about an ounce.

ifjuly said

WHOA, that’s weird about the puritea…i only just ordered from them for the first time for black friday. guess i now kinda hope i don’t LOVE those teas when i try them… :( the samples come in cute little tins too.

boychik said

Ifjuly, did you order the samplers or separate samples?

ifjuly said

I ordered the separate samples. I always do (unless a place offers pick-your-own sample packs) because every time I’ve ever looked at prepicked sample packs anywhere there’s always a couple teas I have zero interest in.

moraiwe said

Nooooooooo. Not thepuritea. I love them :(

MelissaTea said

I think the free shipping deals at the places mentioned end tonight (12/18/13).

boychik said

Agree. I also like to pick my samples. What did you pick if you don’t me asking? I find we have similar taste

ifjuly said

Aw, that’s flattering you want to know! Let’s see, I got samples of Red Dragon Pearl, Darjeeling #1, Hong Jing Luo, Golden Yunnan, Ceylon #1, Milk Oolong, Lychee Green, and Royal Lily Bloom. I have no idea if any are good or what yet though—sooooo much tea to go through. I pick samples based on Steepster reviews, my own preferences, and what sounds unique or interesting to me.

If you place an order, I hope you enjoy it!

boychik said

If I place another order… My family already hates me and make fun of me;) well I know I just can’t resist. I was thinking about Red Dragon Pearls, and Milk Oolong, and Golden Yunnan…
