Love Capital Tea Ltd! I just placed my first order on the strength of a few samples lovely Steepster Dexter3657 sent my way and received it Friday, so wonderful. I haven’t had anything I didn’t like from them so far, and a few (the Borsapori Assam!!) blew me away.

Glad you were able to use the coupon, ifjuly. I have been eyeing a few of his blacks ….

Always happy to share some of my favorites ifjuly – happy you enjoyed them and placed an order. Their 20g packages seem really generous to me and most are only a few dollars.

I learned about Capital through your awesome package too, Dex! Definitely a place I’ll order from at some point… way down the line. haha.

I’m on the verge of being completely out of their tea, and they don’t do sales very often… I ordered a couple of favorites and a couple of new ones.

Can you recommend me what should I try?

boychik I’ve only had their blacks. I would advise just to order whatever style of black is your favorite. IMHO their straight teas are really nice quality. Personally I like Yunnan – thier Yunnan Black FOP is really good as a “non fussy” everyday kind of black. Thier Special Golden Yunnan ORGANIC is more expensive and has more depth of flavor.
You also can’t go wrong with Hunan Black Congou – I ordered 100g last time and 100g this time. It’s one of my favorite blacks.
Still my advice is buy what you like. If you like darjeeling then buy that..

I too like Capital Tea. I’ve had some great stuff from them (and some not-so-great items as well). Customer service is quite good. I usually get some of their blacks to fill in the holes in my collection. Several years ago, though, I bought some of their greens & oolongs, which were good. Their higher-quality senchas are also nice.

Echo above. I’ve mostly bought their Assam’s. But I have sampled their Ceylon’s, Darjeeling’s, some greens and some Chinese blacks. I’ve pretty well enjoyed everything I have. I love there borsapori Assam, but if you read their descriptions there is a wide variety suited for your budget, taste preference and how you like to take your tea.

just a heads up boychik, i’m sending along little samples of the borsapori assam, hunan black congou, and yunnan black special grade, if you are comfortable waiting to try before you buy (of course, i wouldn’t blame you for being impatient and not waiting either!). i just finished taping up your package 10 minutes ago, ha. will try my best to send it out by wednesday.

A little late to the party, but their milk oolong is the only one I’ve had in the same league as Mandala’s. And even though I usually don’t love flavored teas, their Chesapeake Sunrise is the biz! It’s a green/black with hints of fruit and almond.

Sadly they don’t ship internationally. Would anyone in the US be interested in splitting an order & sending my portion along? I’m happy to repay you for the tea + int’l shipping, or do a swap.
