Wow, I didn’t see this when you posted. 30-50% off is a great sale! Unfortunately , it’s not a good time for me. I still need to work on getting my tea number down a bit.

I’m sure most of you know that Teabox will send a free $15 sampler — called a “discovery pack” — to first time customers. But for returning customers, you can currently get 50% off discovery packs with the code SAMPLE495. Shipping over $25 is free, and the sample sizes are a generous 10g per tea. They’ve also got some deeply reduced sale items right now.

One thing to know about them, though — they ship to the US using FedEx, and they require that you sign for every delivery, even the free sampler. So it’s a good idea to monitor the shipment carefully. It took 3 attempted deliveries — delayed due to an ice storm — before I got my package.

Finally, for Teabox — if you’re a new customer, I can email $25 coupons to individual email addresses, so let me know if interested.

Hi Kristina; I’m a new customer but didn’t see any Discovery pack offers on the site; most of them aren’t for me as I don’t drink black tea but it sounds like the $25 deal is a better way to go though and you would also get the credit!
My email is elena**excl*usives**@**hotmail**.com (NO ASTERISKS just to protect my email from google search:)

It’s not advertised on the site. I found it at a coupon code/deal site, and the code still worked — I used it today.

Teabox is doing a lot of things well on the customer service front. For example, they were the first (and only) company to ask my opinion about their service after I made a purchase.

I have often thought of ordering from Yunomi, but have yet to do so. I find their site confusing, and the info on each tea less than complete. For example, unless all of their senchas fall into one category, they need to label them as asa, chu, or fuka.

Best wishes,
sherubtse

ugggh I’ve spent way to much money this CNY but I caved and bought a kyusu xD thanks for the info. Also, do you know if the points have an expiration date?

@Haveteawilltravel No the points don’t expire, at least I don’t believe they do. Had points saved for almost a year before and they were still stored.

@sherubtse I have been shopping with Yunomi for a long time and have always recommended them, though I do know what you mean. The website layout has changed several times in the last few years, I think they are trying to be more customer friendly. Ian Chun the owner of Yunomi is a very nice man and if I have a question he replies back quickly. As he is in touch with the farms that they stock tea from if he doesn’t know the answer he can ask. It’s almost like being in direct contact with the growers. Then you can find out the details of production ie Asamushi, Chumushi, Fukamushi etc.
