Dr Jim…you are planning another Puerh TTB!

I’ve been thinking about how to make it something that would appeal to puerh newbies. Maybe a puerh/black or puerh oolong box. Start with puerh and let people replace the puerh with other teas so it gradually changes. It’ll probably be September before It’s ready for another round.

that is so nice! it will be a lot of help to us newbies who havent any puerh to swap out. i would soooo like to be part of the next TTB! will work with my brother (in CA) to arrange the blacks for me (i dont have much oolong so i hope and pray it will be a black or black/oolong puerh box)

I caved and got about $75 of tea. Though with the exchange rate, it’s roughly $100 CAD. >.<

lolol. That’s a little vague isn’t it? Technically everyday starts at midnight so the sale is already over, but I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt and think they actually meant ends of the day of Aug 9. That doesn’t really answer my question though, I’m in PST and midnight here and midnight in China is probably a really big difference. =D

I also got the Repave along with cakes of the 2015 Little walk, If you’re reading this…, and the 2012 Bulang. Samples of Hong Kong storage, Last Thoughts, 2005 Naka, Rocket, and 2004 Yangpinhao. Freebies included some Fujian Oolong, half cakes of 2005 shou and “mid-2000s wet raw”, 80 g of “Mid-2000s raw”, 2013 Banfer (not sure of spelling), some raw Maocha, and a 2011 Xiaguan FT tuocha. I’ve already tried several of the freebies, and while I’m not sure they’re up to W2T’s usual standards, I’m going to enjoy them.

I had just gotten my order of 2014 Laochatou Ripe and Little Gold Melons pretty much the day the sale was announced. After trying to talk myself out of another order, I ordered a cake of Little Walk and a sample of Poundcake to support what appears to be a newfound addiction sheng.

I got

150g Laochatuo (dang looseTman, I thought I got a lot!)
200g Gold Melons
400g 2005 Rocket Yiwu

Almost got Duchess and Bosch but I stopped myself since I might have another tea haul coming up.

So I just received my order from white2tea and to my surprise, I did not receive my free tea that I was supposed to receive with the sale. I am very disappointed as that is that main reason I jumped on this sale. I do not know what to do of if I should even bother e-mailing them. THis is my first order from white2tea and am very disappointed.

I sent them an e-mail through there “contact us” on the website. I really hope they are able to make it right. I spent over $250 for the promise of at least 550 grams of extra tea.

That should work. I know it’s disappointing. However, mistakes happen. Give Paul the benefit of the doubt to make things right. Enjoy your new pu-erh while you’re waiting for a reply. Have a Tea-rific day!

So I will wait for a response from him. I was just so excited waiting to see what the freebies were going to be that when I just saw my order, I was disappointed. But hopefully I will be able to look forward to a great response from him. Do you have any idea on what his usual response time is?

So I converted it was 11pm in Beijing. I would wait another 3-5 hrs

The plan all along was to give him until tomorrow morning. My morning.

@Christina My last w2t with basics took just over a week from when it was shipped from Bejing to California. But you never know if customs gets a hold of it.

My cupboard would cry.

It would make an interesting group buy/TTB. Everyone chips in to buy it then they all go around as a TTB only no one puts anything back in the box. Earmark things up front that people really want to try to make sure some are left when the box gets to them.
Note that I am not suggesting I would head that up or even be involved. Just an interesting thought. :)

I have gone completely mad and ordered their samples of all teas.
My excuse was me being a newbie in tea and having a figuratively empty cupboard…

If nothing else, it will set you up for swaps and travelling tea boxes. I’ve received a number of samples from people who I suspect went for the whole enchillada.

I would be interested in the ttb idea if it goes through! Canada here though..

I looked into shipping cost to Canada for the first TTB and was horrified. I also screen people for a fairly long and active history on Steepster, since the box is a long-term project and some people lose interest in Steepster after a couple of months.

I’ve done a TTB to Canada before. It basically requires 2 people to be willing to spend more on shipping than everyone else. Whoever sends to Canada the first time and whoever the last Canadian is who ships back to the US. For a box of this size, it might be a considerable amount.
