Glad you are better. Sorry about the green tea. Maybe the people at the clinic will be tea drinkers and understanding about a solution besides avoidance. Prayers and best wishes.

First and foremost: I’m very glad to know you were able to avoid surgery, Rachel.
Second: Read, study, and get opinions and options both in and (particularly) out of the traditional western medical field. The AMA is like a religion; it’s practitioners pretty much stick to the doctrine and often in its broadest terms. Don’t despair; I’m almost certain that you’ll be able to incorporate your favorite teas into your new lifestyle, where they’ll become even more appreciated and enjoyed.

Really sorry to hear about your blood clotting condition and your green tea woes. My wife has an autoimmune disorder as well but hers relates to her thyroid. Aside from the green tea, how else will it affect your health/life? Are there other things you have to change as a result?

Glad to hear that you are ok, and hoping for some good news that you can drink green tea again at some point.

That’s so terrible! I feel lucky for dodging a bullet I didn’t even know was possible – I had a blood clot in my lower leg back in January, and was put on Arixtra for a month (no routine blood tests requIred), and luckily I was found not to have a clotting disorder, so I don’t have to be on blood thinners again unless I get another clot or become pregnant. I can’t imagine having to cut out something like green tea. I hope they can offer you some solid advice on how to be able to still drink some green tea and stay healthy.

I have to admit though, I’ve been warned that I’m at a higher risk for clots now (I have compression socks for flying, woo!) and now I’m concerned about drinking green tea myself… Time for googling…
