Variable Temperature Kettles??

I know Helena just recently bought the breville one and she is loving it! :) I’ve been looking in to these myself as I’m pretty sure i can manage to live without the breville tea maker lesigh

I have the Cuisinart, and I like it a lot.
I have had it for about 9 months and use it about 6 times a day.
If you have hard water it can build up deposits in kettles like this, but if you boil a kettle full of vinegar water or hard water cleaner in it every once in awhile,its fine.
I love my variable temp kettle and won’t be without one now.

I got the Breville last year for Chirstmas and I love it! I Probably use it 5-8 times a day and its held up really well. There are preset time/temperature combinations for green, black, herbal, oolong and white there is also a custom setting to choose your own time/temperature. I really like that it has a clock that you can set to start steeping at what ever time you want, I always wake up to a perfectly steeped cup of tea. Another feature that I really like is the “keep warm” setting, it will hold the temperature of the tea so that by the time you are ready for a 2nd cup it is still warm. The cord is a nice length and rolls up underneath if you want it to be shorter. Make sure you rinse it after you finish each pot or else it does stain, but it cleans fairly easily with some baking soda/water.

I have the breville, I got it last Christmas and it is still going great! It heats quickly and fairly quietly and the temperature presets mean the bf can use it for his coffee too. I like the feel of it, too. It is durable equipment, which I need in the morning.

I have to keep singing the praises of my Adagio UtiliTea! Reasonably priced, perfect size for the countertop, and still going strong after 3+ years of daily use.

My variable temp kettle is actually just a cheap-o Sunbeam that we picked up at Home Hardware for $30 or $40 and I love it. I can change it in five degree increments from 60 to 100, it’s fast, quiet, accurate. Huge step up from guessing the temps.

I have the Cuisinart CPK-17C and I love it. But I’d love to go the next step up and get the Breville one touch. But until then. I do love the Cuisinart.

I am checking these out myself! I was really wishing I already had one tonight. I looked at the Breville and my only complaint is the plastic parts that touch the water. They are not BPA free.

Cuisinart used to be such a great company but it seems a lot of their products have fallen in quality recently, so I didn’t consider them.

Chef’s Choice gives you more control over the temperature than the Breville, but I do not find it as attractive. I need to look at the Adagio Utilitea!

Mostly, I am going on amazon.com and checking out the customer comments. That is how one pot got bumped off the list with no hope of rejoining it!

Joy of Steeping, I actually looked into the 2 you mentioned but after a lot of research, I selected the Adagio Utilitea for it’s good ratings and price. See my previous comments to ashmanra and softrevolution. Some of the other brands did not seem to be as reliable.

I have had the Cuisinart PerfecTemp kettle for about a year and I love it. I have been thinking about upgrading and giving the Cuisinart to my Mom. I want one that has a complete temperature range to choose from, like the Chef’s Choice kettle. I’m going to look into the Adagio kettle too, but I remember hearing some negative reviews in the past about a bad bunch of them that went out? The Chef’s Choice got excellent reviews from what I have seen so far.
