Variable Temperature Kettles??
I just looked at the Adagio kettles and I think I’m going to go with the Chef’s Choice. I like that I can actually pick any temperature I want and just set it to that.
I’m using the Carpresso H2O-Pro. I use it about 20-30 times a day and have been using it for about 8 months straight. Holding up nicely and I couldn’t live without it! :)
I do not have either of these kettles, but I do have the Breville One-Touch and I absolutely love it. Breville really impresses me.
On the other hand, I have nothing good to say about Cuisinart. I bought a Cuisinart food processor and a Cuisinart immersion blender at about the same time. The food processor broke within 25 months of purchase, and the immersion blender broke about a month after that. I won’t buy another Cuisinart product because I’ve been too dissatisfied with what I’ve purchased from them, and I won’t recommend them to others, either.
I’m madly in love with the Adagio UtiliTEA. It’s a decent price, and I’ve had it for awhile with no problems. It heats up really quickly and really quietly too.
Thanks for all of the advice everyone. I ended up with the Cuisinart Perfect Temp. Love it!! I don’t think Adiago ships to canada :(
They do, they just charge outrageous shipping costs, so it’s rarely worth it. Hope you enjoy your new kettle! : )
Thanks so much! Yeah the shipping costs sometimes keep me to Canadian vendors
I just found out that Tin Roof Teas carries the Krups variable temp kettle and I love the look of it! It has all the temp settings I wanted and has a 167F hold feature that lasts an hour instead of 30 minutes. It is BPA free, attractive, glass, and you can infuse your tea in it or just heat the water. I am hoping to pick it up this weekend. Squeeee! Sure wish I had it at the polls yesterday.
@ashmanra Hope you get the new kettle this weekend. I love the look of it, I still just can’t decide!
Still don’t have it! They were sold out and supposed to call me when they come in but I still haven’t heard from them. If they come in by Wednesday, my son is going to try to pick it up for me and bring it with him for Thanksgiving.
What a happy Thanksgiving it will be if they get it in stock in time!
I had one from Adagio and it’s okay but didn’t have specific temps just general which was okay for what I paid for it and I was seeing what the difference was. Then I got my Breville Variable Temp kettle and I LOVE it. So do my parents :D I spent $129 on it and ordered it from Stash Tea :) It made a HUGE difference with my matcha (I now love matcha) It’s also easier when someone says X temp and I can hit that temp with a press of a button. It also beeps when it’s done (like a microwave but not as loud) there’s also a tone when you press the temp and start button :D I would recommend the Breville :D
If you don’t need to pour then the zojirushi hot pots are fantastic. I’ve been using one for a while and I don’t know how I lived without it.
I was worried about using the zojirushi hot pot as it had a non-stick inside coating made of Teflon I think? What caught my eye today was the Bonavita 1L variable temp digital electric gooseneck kettle. It can heat to within 1 degree accuracy and is only 89 dollars compared to cuisinart and breville. It’s relatively new though so you would be taking a chance, but another plus is that all the parts that come in contact with water are stainless steel. Only the handle and the very top part (doesn’t touch water) are made of plastic. It’s also got a very thin spout so water doesn’t spill messily out. The hold feature also lasts 1 hour.
I like this one! I like too that it has the option if the gooseneck spout or the regular spout. I may wait a few months to see how the reviews are though, since its new.
