Morning tea that isn't Maté?

Every morning tea I’ve ever had has been maté because of the high caffeine, but are there teas other than maté for waking up? (except for relaxing teas obviously). I want to have a wider variety to choose from in my morning routine :)

Some strong black teas can be great for waking up, I’ve found Irish and Scottish breakfast blends to be especially so.

Guayusa! If not guayusa, try matcha – loads of caffeine.

I agree. I prefer guayusa over mate, it’s got a natural sweetness to it, and I find that straight guayusa blends with other teas far better than straight green mate. I add it to my other teas for added kick in the morning, without altering flavour too much.

I like the Chai Guarana by Davids Tea. It does have a bit of mate in it but it doesn’t taste like it at all.

lately, I prefer just making my genmaicha (my all around favorite tea) first thing, or I will do Numi’s cardamom pu erh tea.

I find it nearly impossible to start the day without a cup of rich black tea with a splash of milk, no sugar, no honey. Lately I’ve been adoring Pride of the Port by Peet’s.
