I like it, but it’s a STRONG cup of tea. Very malty. In my experience people either love it or hate it.

It will definitely stand up to milk and sugar.

When someone says a tea is malty, what does that mean exactly? and what kind of tea is Yorkshire Gold? How does it taste? Astringent, sweet…..?

I was trying to think of a good way to describe malty, and the best I can come up with is comparing it to dark beer. Yorkshire Gold is a black tea blend from the UK, it’s very strong/robust and gets astringent easily.

How about Malted milk balls?

Agree. A good substitute for coffee on occasion. There is however a subtle difference in York.Gold and just the Yorkshire, can’t explain it really. Both good teas.

Interesting, I can find the regular (red) York tea, the gold is however more difficult to find.
I may have to try both for experimentation purposes of course :)

lol…I’m not a beer drinker at all. When I hear the word malty, I think of the thick malt shakes I used to get at my local seasonal ice cream place. LOL….that was like over 20 years ago! Ahhh! heh

It’s a bit of a dirty-tasting tea when oversteeped (3 minutes max!) so watch it carefully. The Ceylon is very pronounced in this tea but the African leaf dampens any pleasant finish. It’s a decent breakfast tea. I strongly recommend milk!

Hmmm okay – sounds like a decent English breakfast tea from what I see.
Guess my arm has been sufficiently twisted to try it :)

lol…the mention of English Breakfast tea actually puts me off from trying it. But then it was Bigelow so maybe I should give the loose tea version a shot.
