Torture for a Tea Drinker

I’m glad to hear it returns! I made a doctor appointment next week. Wonder if there is anything they can give me to speed up the recovery process.
Just out of morbid curiosity, I put Dr. Bronner’s peppermint soap in my mouth and tasted nothing. It tingled a little, but that was it. If that taste can’t cut through, I don’t think anything else will either. I can’t even open my tea cupboard. Too depressing.

I got a sinus infection some years back and was given a nasal spray containing steroids. It didn’t seem to help all that much, but was extremely efficient at killing my sense of smell (which had NOT been affected by the sinus infection). It was well over a year before my sense of smell returned, and I’m not at all sure it ever came back 100%. I’ve had sinus infections since (here they call it “Houstonitis”), but have never lost my sense of smell like that. Just sayin’, in case your doc recommends nasal spray. Best of luck; I know how you must feel.

I lost my taste buds last year, it was terrible. Lasted about three months, and while they have come back for the most part, maybe 85%, my food preferences have changed because of it. Probably because I don’t get all the nuances that I once did.
On the plus side, I was able to eat really spicy food! :)
