Tea stencil - help!
buzzed off his mane to give me a chance to deal with some bad dandruff, then as it grows I can easily keep it trimmed to a cute 1.5" mohawk http://sphotos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/266848_471141302937847_1520414442_o.jpg
This is probably my WORST clip EVER, but he’s not a show horse, so the functionality of it is way more important than the looks. This side has the shamrock, it’s wonky because I had to make it cover the failed teapot. http://sphotos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/135244_471141712937806_177429083_o.jpg
here’s the heart side. it gives a better view of the full clip. What I had planed to do was shave his whole belly, up his sides about 6", shave his neck, and then leave a “blanket” of hair over his back/rump, and then shave the teapot/teacup out of his bum hair. What I ended up doing because he was soggy was a modified “Irish” clip, where it takes off the neck hair and tummy hair, but leaves the sides completely hairy. It’s not as pretty as I was planning, but working with a crappy clipper blade, on a wet horse, with a limited amount of time before the sedation wore off, I’m pleased. http://sphotos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/134226_471142159604428_229103428_o.jpg
and finally, here you can see that I shaved his chest/throat too, right into his armpits, and then I shaved his belly hair all the way back and then up his “bum crack” to take off as much of the hair that gets sweaty as I could. The tummy is VERY rough, because of how wet he was it was impossible to make it as smooth as it should have been. I’ll do better next year. http://sphotos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/680405_471143042937673_828149332_o.jpg
What a lovely horsie! I’d love to meet him someday! I just love the idea of a tea drinking horse. :)
He has a good neck for a roached mane.
The roached mane is infinitely more flattering than the super heavy mane he had when I first got him. I plan to let it grow out JUST enough to give him a touch of mane, but not so much that it changes the shape of his topline too much. That, and having a super short mane will make his pathetic forelock look bigger!
