I may be paranoid but I have bought happy kombutcha from davids tea, and I was doing research online and I read that it could be very dangerous to drink kombutcha and everyone should steer clear, I was just wondering if anyone has exoericed this or heard of it? I am also really scared to try sleigh ride from davids tea because it has mistle toe in it??? do you think I am being weird or is there reason for concern?

There’s nothing wrong with kombucha, I know a bunch got pulled because it’s naturally like 1% alcohol (and there might have been a bad batch somewhere or something like that), but that’s not gonna happen in the powder that’s in the tea. If it’s made properly it’s not that different from beer or yogurt or anything else that has good bacteria or ferments. Out of anything I wouldn’t trust that powder, but it’s in such a small quantity I don’t think it even matters.

Kids were saying they were getting drunk off it so now it’s labeled alcoholic which is ridiculous because I can’t drink it on the go anymore!!!

I’ve drunk kombucha for years, both home brewed and commercial Nothing inherently wrong with it — in fact, quite the opposite. I also don’t think David’s would get away with selling poison tea for very long.

How much tea is 5-7 cups daily? 4 oz. cups? 12 oz. cups? If you’re new to tea drinking you might want to slack off a bit until you find out how much is too much for your system.

Thank you guys lol I feel alot better about drinking it now I would say I drink 4 Oz cups and I did try to back off for a day but broke down on the evening and still my belly hurt all day so it might be something else. But yes I am pretty new at tea lol I user to drink bagged tea, but then a youtuber told me about Davids tea and I was just like wow, I have to get some and I have been hooked kinda hard not to at least have two cups my hand feels empty without it now lol

I hope you feel better asap! There are quite a few colds and flus going around: my daughter is home today with a stomach ache, nausea and headache. Perhaps a simple cup of peppermint tisane or ginger infusion will help.

Absolutely a number of things could be causing the tummy trouble. If you think you’ve narrowed it down to tea then look at what type you are drinking. Is it black, green, white, etc. Maybe a particular type is the culprit. The good thing is there are a ton of herbals that can help like mint, licorice root or ginger. Also, be mindful of steeping times. Over steeping might cause your brew to become too astringent which would definitely affect your stomach.

I found the first time that I drank a lot of Happy Kombucha, just the first one or two times, my tummy was a bit rumbly and it had a bit of a..ummm…ahem….“cleansing” effect
then I seemed to get used to it cuz it hasn’t happened since.

First, I love Kombucha and should almost be a paid representative for how much I talk synergy and kevita drinks, etc up!!! I have an auto-immune disorder and it’s one of the few things that makes me feel human again.

As for the stomach problems, is this a recent thing? I know I’ve had stomachaches for years, hence my love of probiotics!!! Is it like a pain, or nauseatdd feeling? I know black teas can make me feel like I’m going to throw up if I don’t drink them with enough hearty foods.

Do you drink one type of tea all day or mix it up? You might, as some are suggesting, be allergic to a specific ingredient in one of those teas.

I’ve never had the powdered kombucha tea from David’s before… Now I’m curious to revisit it…

I used to live on Bigelow Earl Grey. I drank pitchers of it a day, until my stomach started burning so bad I thought I would have to give up tea. I switched to green Earl Grey and got instant though not complete relief. Turns out I was oversteeping. Actually, I was just leaving the bag in the cup. If I did remove it I squeezed it dry. When I switched to loose leaf I learned to control the steep time. If I overdo black tea it can still cause me some pain but it is light and temporary compared to my ealy bag days. Might not be your problem but worth considering.
