Unique tea gifts for Christmas

Hello everyone!

So I have been searching for a gift for my boyfriend for Christmas, and I am thinking maybe something tea related, as we both love tea. However, I really want the present to be unique, maybe a unique mug or an interesting gift set of tea. I have been searching online, but I still haven’t found quite the right thing. So I’m asking all you Steepsterites for any suggestions. I am relatively new to tea, so I don’t have quite as extensive knowledge of different companies and what they have to offer.

Also, he loves anything elephant related, so any suggestions involving them would be excellent. Also he loves white teas.

Oh, and I live in Canada, so shipping is a bit of an issue with some things.

UPDATE: So far, I’ve gotten him a photo customized tea mug with an elephant and octopus on it hehe. So mostly looking for teapots and tea now, not as much cups!

Thanks in advance for your help!

could always go with a custom mug that lets you insert your own picture.or just generic tea samplers/tea tumbler.

or something like this

I like the custom mug idea! Do you happen to have the site where that elephant teapot can be purchased? I love it, and I know he would as well :)

Since you’re in Canada, how about a tea of the month sampler from Amoda? He’ll get some cool teas every month! http://www.amodatea.com/

At Tealet we have a Christmas Gift Set (http://tealet.com/gift)that can be added on our Global Tea Taster subscription service. The gift set includes an authentic handmade Tokoname-Yaki kyusu (teapot) and two teacups. The subscription is a bi-monthly shipment of 4-15 gram samples of tea direct from the grower. We search the world for unique tea farmers that are producing tea with an amazing story. We help tell the stories of these growers on the website: http://tealet.com/growers

SHIPPING IS ALWAYS FREE & WE SHIP TO CANADA

Thanks for the suggestion! Quick question, can you get just the Gift Set without adding on the subscription? And do the 120 cups of tea come with the teapot and teacups or do you have to get the subscription in order to have tea come with it as well? Thanks!

The teapot and teacups are an add-on to the subscription (120 cups of tea).

Please message me at info@tealet.com if you are interested in only the teapot and teacups, we can definitely work that out for you. In fact, I’ll have our developer Christian modify the page so the teapot can be purchased separately.

Elephant teapot, is usually still sold at World Market. They have a website too. Also try this company for ordering and unusual gifts, thermometers, & timers! Upton Teas. Great book and website. Each tea is described as one would explain the flavor of wine. Most extensive list i have come across in one place.

Ooh I’m looking at Upton right now, I like the variety of teas! I also found a very cute teapot on World Market, but looks like they only ship to the US unfortunately.

Have them ship it to one of us in the US, and we’ll ship it to you! I would do it, and I’m sure there are others who would be willing to do so as well.

I remember seeing an elephant teapot on Butiki’s website and really liking it.

It’s the third one down. :)

MissLena12 said 2012-12-02 19:23:22 -0500

That one is cute! Haha it must be super heavy though, it’s cast iron!

Small
Mercuryhime said 2012-12-02 19:47:27 -0500

Indeed! It will probably be good at keeping your tea warm if you like that sort of thing. :) I prefer glazed tea ware myself, but the cast iron always looks so appealing.

MissLena12 said 2012-12-02 19:50:35 -0500

Hmm yeah that wouldn’t be too bad, as long as it doesn’t keep white tea too hot in it haha as that will be one of the teas he would brew in it..also appealing as I really want to try Butiki tea and this would give me a reason to get a bit :P lol

Thanks for all the awesome suggestions! I’m still deciding on what else to get him, I’m thinking some sort of white tea sample set and maybe an elephant teapot/other unique teapot to go with his custom mug that I ordered yesterday :) I’ll see what my budget ends up looking like! Once again, thanks for all suggestions, they are greatly appreciated!!
