Ebay? what do you think?

Fisrt thing is a question for you guys, Am I the only one who have bad experience with ebay store or others too?? I want to know! Second thing I want to explain the 2 issues I have with the same ebay store with both of my orders, 2 orders screwed up by this store. 1st issue is my first order I bought 2 items and I thought everything went smooth I got my order email and my shipping info and both items same package same shipping info(which leads to nothing at all no info whatsoever btw) I got this package but only one item in the package other one missing. 2nd issue really messes with my head(keep in mind that I placed my second order with them before receiving the first order so I didn’t know first order was screwed yet) again I ordered 2 teas this time a little more expensive again got all my info and shipping info another number that leads to nothing at all, but they claimed that my order was shipped ok then what blows my mind is that after my order supposedly shipped i get a surprise refund to my paypal on one of the items but no email from the store at all explaining this I had to contact them to see what the hell was going on because supposedly both of my orders were good to go and already shipped, they then tell me that item is “out of stock” so they refunded it to me, OK so how is it “out of stock” for me IF its already been shipped to me and is on its way, I will not be ordering from Ebay again and Please beware of seller/store called “shcfstore” You may get screwed without even kiss. really tho something can’t be out of stock for you if they already sent it to you that make no sense at all there was a lie told somewhere :( oh well live and learn.
My opinion is that they give you false emails on the orders and they claimed its shipped and offer a bogus number on it so that you feel safe and think your item is on its way when truth is that it hasn’t even been shipped or processed at all,I don’t understand why they refunded me on this item tho because it is also still up online for sale too with 11 sold and more than 10 available, i just don’t understand. I’m not really trying to complain but just let others know about the goings on with this store so that they can beware, Ok so I was complaining but I’m done now, sorry.

That sounds really shady, sorry that happened to you Tommy! I like to know about businesses to avoid. It’s always frustrating dealing with a business that isn’t legit. I just went through a 2 month process through the BBB getting my dad a refund from a bad business.

ebay has been pretty good to me so far. i always check the seller’s feedback rating though to avoid the bad ones. if you are looking to buy something let me know to see if i recommend the seller or not. i might be able to help. there is another site called allieexpress that holds any payment you send in escrow till you verify you have received the correct order and such to release the payment to the seller. unfortunately today i was told no more tea purchases for a while. as opposed to what i can still sneak in….

I am not in any way and expert about buying stuff from Ebay, though I have ordered some stuff. (No tea though.) As far as I remember….I have ordered from Ebay about 6 times. Only 1 time was I disapointed. I had bidded on a necklace pendent and never got it. I paid thru a gift visa card. the pendent was less then $3 dollars so I was not pissed about that, I was just pissed about not getting any answer on why they did not send it or did not send an email…Would I order from Ebay again? Yes I probably would, depending on the product. So, I don’t blame you for not wanting to deal with Ebay again, but is it really fair to blame the whole website for the cheesy business practices of 1 company?

I ordered a windchime from ebay before and I got another tea from a different store on order too but I’ll mostly likely not use ebay again for tea if I do it will be only a store that someone recommends to me to be a good seller ya know. I try not to blame the whole site but I see it like this if the whole site allows this seller to be this way then any other seller can also be this way on the site I think, this store even had 98.9 positive feedback.

But even a store that a friend recommends could do the wrong thing….that can be any company. Generally speaking I think.

Tommy, I’m sorry, looking at my post above it looks abrupt and unfriendly, I didn’t mean to come across that way.

You didn’t come across that way to me at all I totally understood what you was saying :)

I buy and sell on eBay all the time. I’ve had good and bad…just part of using it…they have a monopoly.

The problem with eBay is that you need to know what to look for when your buying, for example the feedback for the buyer and how true to the price the item actually is. Even then a lot of it seems to come down to luck, I have received items broken and even some tea that has been expired before! I’ve been using it for years though and have had more positive than negative experiences when buying.

Now however I am a seller with my own eBay shop and get to experience what it’s like to be a seller. I would like to think that not all of us sellers are that bad :)

Whatever you buy from eBay I would suggest you always use Paypal because if anything does go wrong then you can get your money back easily. As for selling items that are out of stock it would appear to me that he has a website that links items from that to his eBay and he has to manually remove them. I know about this as my ex boss used to do the same and he always sold things he didn’t have, he used to send the order without the items and write a note saying he was out of stock and refunded the price. It’s horrible manners!

I hope your experiences haven’t put you off eBay completely and next time you have no trouble :)

I agree with KittyLovesTea. I have had a lot of good experiences with eBay and have sold a few things too. Checking out the seller’s rating is worthwhile and only buying from companies that have a good reputation among other people helps. I have had good service from Dragon Tea House and Berylleb King Tea. I also look at recommendations on places like TeaChat if I am thinking of ordering from other companies. It’s always worth doing the background research first, especially when ordering from abroad. Using Paypal is a useful safety measure too.

Dragon Tea House is also a company I would recommend on eBay. I started ordering with them via their website in the end though and I have a small discount on the prices there for being a valued customer so they really sell their website over eBay. :)

Ooh, I had not realised that Dragon Tea House had their own website. I’m off to google it now. :)
