Ripe Puerh Tea Knowledge

Pu-erh tea is actually named after the area that it is produced in of China. You will find that if you want pu-erh tea, you are going to need to check out the shaiqing maocha tea and look at the Yunnan large-leaf tea tree leaves that produce this leave so that tea can be made. There are always two types of puerh tea that people drink, ripe and raw Pu-erh.

You will find that with people drinking this Chinese tea, there are different factors and reasons that they want to drink the tea. For men, it will help keep them in good health. For women, they will be able to lose it as a weight loss option. For seniors, it helps them achieve a longer life, and for children, it will actually help them increase their appetite.

So how about its making process and health benefits?

I have a brick of pu-erh to break into. I purchased it at a Chinese market and all of the writing is in Chinese. I wonder if you can tell me the best way to prepare this? Assume I will be making at least a 3-4C pot.

I’ve heard about its weight loss qualities. I had a different pu-erh not too long ago and I drank it for a couple of days while at work. The first day drinking it, at the end of the day, I looked back and realized I had absolutely no desire to snack between meals. I thought perhaps it was due to the tea, but the next day was not quite the same story. Perhaps that is because I was “aware” and just kind of poo-pooed the weight loss theory. At any rate, I am eager to give it a try again, but less for weight loss reasons and more because I want to keep learning about pu-erh and its various flavors, textures, etc.

Before brewing brick pu-erh tea, firstly we need to know how to loosen and pry pu-erh tea. You can find the detailed information about how to pry brick pu-erh tea by: http://www.teavivre.com/info/pry-pu-erh-tea/. Also the right way to break a compressed pu-erh tea can keep its original taste and flavors.

As for its brewing method, pu-erh tea usually can be brewed by glass teapot, Chinese Gaiwan and Yixing teapot. Because everyone has his own preference, so here is a example of brewing guide for our “Fengqing Raw Pu-erh Cake Tea 2006 Paddy Flavor”

Gaiwan 3oz: 10g, 2rinses,10s,20s,25s,30s,35s,40s,50s,60s…….
Teapot 8oz: 10g, rinse,30s,1m,2m,3m,4m

You may try brew it with different steeping times to find a way that you satisfied with it. Pu-erh tea is famous for its weight loss function and has the ability to help us burn fat and shed pounds. Some of my friends who initially want to drink pu-erh tea to lose weight, but with time goes on, they love that tea instead of just drinking it for weight loss.
