Were/are they pretty good teas? I’ve never tried them.

They had some nice ones. Teavana bought them out. They must have had a non competition agreement because when they came back they brought back many of the old teas. The teas usually had more tea less filler than Teavana. I always liked them better. Creamy nut oolong is pretty good and I always liked there caramel and monks blend teas. They used to have a Lila nut and mate tea that was pretty good. I remember liking Mountain Dew an some of their whites.

Kusmi advent is up on the US site!

I was hoping the St. Petersburg refill bag would be back in stock for me to order, but c’est la vie…

YESSSSSS!!! Ordered! I didn’t even stop to shop around for fear of them selling out while I was browsing like what happened on different tea buying attempt the other day!

I added one thing for free shipping but made sure to be snappy about it! ;)

Dustin said

I ordered an extra advent to gift to a friend. Why pay shipping when I can turn it into tea by spending more!

I am the biggest sucker for free shipping thresholds… As you said, why pay for shipping when I can pay for MOAR TEA?!

Can’t wait for your notes guys!

Thanks for posting! Just ordered. For some reason I thought it was going to cost much more, so I was pleasantly surprised.

I wish they didn’t include the steeping accessories, who doesn’t have steeping equipment already? The price could’ve been even lower without them and the mini tins… But yes, still fairly reasonable.

So excited! Immediately ordered since dithering last year made me miss out on it. I was so stressed it was going to be sold out already.

I’m with you, Martin, can’t wait to see all the notes this December! It’s always fun when there are several people doing the same advent, assuming you don’t mind spoilers of course.

I’m up to four advent calendars now, so I need to be done! Although if Simpson & Vail does one, I could be in trouble…

Currently doing:
- Dammann Frères
- Kusmi
- Palais des Thés
- Plum Deluxe

I got the Plum Deluxe as well! That, the 24 days of matcha from DAVIDs, CuppaGeek, a DIY advent kit to use with my own teas, 52 Teas’ 12 teas of Christmas, and the Geek + Tea 12 teas…and I don’t even celebrate Christmas haha.

I’m quite intrigued by this one.
Does anyone have any experience with their teas?

I have no experience, but their list looks like there are lots of interesting teas!

yyz said

Not personally but their teas are reviewed on this site. It may give you some insight to their style.

I was so tempted by this but couldn’t justify the price. There is a tea blogger called Tea with Jann who bought it and she will likely be covering the teas on her youtube channel if you wanted to follow along!

I love Tea with Jann! Very excited to see her reviews.

Me too! I am excited to watch her vlogmas!

Brief look on my bank account is saying probably no to any Advent Calendars this year, so I will stick to my Sonnentor from last year very probably. Maybe the Leros I wrote about on page two, as it is cheap, though… another herbals :/

Came across this one. You can select a mixed or a caffeine free option.

Is anyone else tempted to console themselves about world affairs by starting an advent in November? I’m eyeing that Kusmi one hard.

Honestly I should probably do one in November just because I have too many. But yes, I also need some emotional support tea. XD

Courtney said

Haha! Bird & Blend I’m hoping will arrive this week, which Lex and I saving for December, but I’m tempted to order another to have in November.

Dustin said

I placed a big emotional support order from Ette, but I need new tea now and can’t wait for shipping from Singapore.

Courtney said

Ette is another tea company I haven’t heard of. So many new companies since I came back to Steepster! I think it’s a good idea to enjoy the comfort teas you have now — waiting is so tough!

So jelly on the ETTE order, I was looking at their teas a couple of weeks ago and they all sound amazing! Can’t wait to see your notes.

AJRimmer said

I got too many advent calendars last year, so technically I’m still trying new teas from them all the time – I had two yesterday!

Dustin said

It took me weeks of internal back and forth about placing an order with Ette. Theodor not having a deluxe advent was the push I needed to pull the trigger. A number of years ago when Ette was first starting out they were active on Steepster. I recall we did a group order which is how I fell in love with their Mango Sticky Rice genmaicha. Can’t recall if I just ordered 2 or 3 of them. I haven’t gotten a shipping confirmation yet, so I broke into my Kusmi advent and am writing notes in a google doc to post later so I don’t spoil the surprise for others who have it too. I still have three other advents for December.

I’ve decided to start one of mine this month as well, as five is really too many to do at once…

Dustin said

Yay! Advent cheaters love company! Which did you choose?
So when I get my Ette order, Cameron, I’ll trade you some samples for some Torchy’s queso!

I started Palais des Thés, because I don’t think anyone else is doing it. I’d rather save the shared ones – it’s fun going through them at the same time as other Steepster-ers. :)

I’m not sure how well queso would travel, LOL!

Dustin said

The idea of a leaky package of days old queso does make me laugh though. I just need to go back and get it in person! Someday.

I don’t think I’ve ever done one of Palais’s advents. I was lukewarm on their teas I have tried, so it didn’t seem like a good advent match for me.

I started Dammann today as well because I ordered Adagio’s calendar last night. I haven’t been very impressed with their teas, but I figured the advent was a good way to give them a fair try.

Dustin said

Ette is doing a 24% off sale for the next couple days. After I made my order. Figures! LOL!

Haven’t seen a Simpson & Vail advent calendar this year either which is a bummer.

Dustin said

Did you find a different company’s advent to console yourself with? Or three others? That’s been my strategy!

I want to get one but am still trying to fit it into my budget haha.

Courtney said

I picked up the Bird & Blend one (actually my partner picked it up as a gift for me), but I was also tempted by the Dammann Freres because it didn’t seem to expensive (though it may be with the shipping). This is my first one so I’m definitely not an expert!

I was sad that Simpson & Vail didn’t do one, too…
