Lupicia Grab Bags
I’m waiting very impatiently for my $60 bag. It’s now in Roseburg, Oregon and should arrive by tomorrow afternoon (or I may EXPLODE!). What did people do before the internet?
I just got mine. Not happy with result at all, feeling like its all crappy tea they threw in. No tins or teawares. Dont think I will be ordering happy bag in the future as it left me unhappy:/
Mine is same as CK’s list below. I bought happy bag from store some time ago and see alot of repetition here. Maybe they need to get inventories of unpopular teas? Oh wells. My friend bought Happy bag in Japan (fukubukuro) which contains better stuff :/
Which of CK’s list did you get since CK listed three. Really sorry you are not happy with yours. I had been feeling by looking at what people are getting that Lupicia is in fact giving really good teas. I have noticed however not many tea wares included. On one hand I would far more rather have more tea than a tea ball I would not use but on the other hand it would be really cool to get some kind of travel cup, or something more unique than a tea ball.
Otherwise I am impressed with the teas people are listing.
I got CK’s mom’s package. For lupicia, quality of tea is somewhat guaranteed. My term of “crappy” meant among teas lupicia carry, they threw some really non-popular ones. As I mentioned in previous comment I bought lupicia’s happy bag from store months ago for grand opening and I do see a lot of repetition. At manufacturer’s point of view, I guess it is a good event for them to clear out inventory thus creating win-win situation for everyone (especially for those who have not tried lupicia tea or have it in stock) It just wasn’t for me. Fukubukuro in Japan contained handy cooler so I expected same for usa but I guess they don’t really care.
Yeah I agree you can’t go TOO wrong with Lupicia quality but I see your point about wanting some of their more popular blends. You got a cooler? That sounds nice! Did you at least get the canvas bag from this Happy Bag? I thought I had seen where in the past all the teas came in nice canvas bags but I am not seeing anyone mention them here.
I did not get handy cooler – I don’t think happy bag in lupicia usa offer handy cooler this year. My friend who ordered fukubukuro (happy bag) in lupicia Japan got it though. I don’t think lupicia usa happy bag offer canvas bag this year either. (haven’t seen it.)
Well that’s kind of a downer. I was excited to go shopping and put my items in my Lupicia canvas bag. Oh well.
Boo! I am experiencing similar disappointment with not getting the special edition tin of Momoko which seems to be the standard regardless of bag value. I have sent inquiry to customer service to see if the oversight is something that can be rectified. I know this may sound greedy but with such diligent inventory of contents revealing a surprising lack of variety, I want what everyone else received.
Update: response from LUPICIAUSA two days after email confirms everyone gets a tin of Momoko and I will get this soon.
Got my order in today, shipping was faster than expected :) bought my mom and dad each their own $60 bag and a $100 bag to share with my sister. I thought the bigger bags would have tea ware things but not such luck for me but still got plenty of tea I like. It looks like most bags have similar teas in them.

I have almost duplicate of $100 bag excepting for a double of sencha ‘Chiran’ instead of CK’s pineapple oolong and no tin of any kind. If my bag offered a different tea, I can understand their choosing to substitute with another tea bag with or without a tin, but not only do I not have the tin, my bag has less one tea type. I am glad Lupicia tea gets such enthusiast reviews but I feel the lack of corporate excitement for fukubukuro in the U.S. is a cultural thing.
Got my $60 Happy Bag today, lots of neat-looking stuff in here. 12x 50g packs, 1x tin, and 2x 10-pack bags. I’m a tea noob, so this seems like a whole world of tea to me. The peach melba is a rooibos so I’m giving it to a friend who likes that stuff (pleh). Especially excited about the assam and black teas. The tin of Momoko is very pretty, but I have so-so luck with green teas so we’ll see how that goes.

Sil – I have yet to see the contents of a bag that I would be unhappy to get! I am SO EXCITED!!!! Hoping for a tin of Momoko as everyone seems to be getting, and Momo Oolong Super Grade teabags…. Strawberry Vanilla sounds great… oh man oh man!
I have to second that all the bags look great! I’d be happy with any of them, tracking says mine won’t get home until the 9th and the wait is killing me.
Alphakitty – ours is also scheduled for arrival on the 9th (with momo). Super anxious! Hahaha.
Did anyone order the $30 bags online and get “Strawberry Vanilla”? That’s the tea I really want.

Ugh, I got a shipping notification for mine on the 2nd, but it still isn’t in transit according to UPS! This happen to anyone else? I want my tea!
Oh finally, it’s due to be delivered tomorrow! So much for tracking!
