Whats your New Year Resolutions!
So with 2013 Now here what are your resolutions ?
Mine are For every good thing that happens through this year im going to wright it on a piece of paper and place it in a Jar and on new years eve I’m going to go threw and read all the good things that happened threw the year so I don’t forget that threw the bad there is always good
My 2nd one is to drink a New tea every day till I have tried every tea in my Cupboard :)
My new years resolution is “I will not run out of my favorite tea at all this year” I’ll keep it on hand always :)
Tommy, did any of the teas I sent you turn into “favorites”?!
mine is i will have enough pu-erh to keep me afloat if need be!
my tea related resolution(s) is to have all my essential tea ware by the end of the year, and not to buy anything beyond sample sizes of tea until the tea ware is in residence.
Sadly, mine is to BUY NO TEA. I really need to get my stash (and spending) under control. I did kinda pre-cheat and buy more 52teas at the tail end of the year, but otherwise I was only gifted 2 teas for Christmas. If I can just drink the tea I have, I will be better off. I’d like actually like to eventually have fewer choices of better quality than the massive, somewhat random and rapidly aging collection of tea I have now.
“I’d like actually like to eventually have fewer choices of better quality " I can really relate to this
i totally agree. but until i know what i like best, i will have to be content with all the experimental leaves ^^
i imagine that as i gain more personal favorites, an increasing percentage of my cupboard space will be occupied by those. i will still keep a small percentage for new kinds tho. which i know is what you both mean to say too. i just wanted to say it in my own words ^^
- Drink up my stash of tea. I think I have a 2 year supply.
- Loose 10 lbs (Burpees, running, push-ups)
- Travel and enjoy life.
- Find my next compatible soulmate, someone down to earth and drama free.
- Have some fun by spending some money on experiences, not stuff
- Generally, keep good care of my self.
- Be a good dad to my son.
I love your jar idea Sare! So many times we focus on the bad. I might adopt your resolution.
Mine is to lose weight and to try and go as long as possible without buying tea. I know I won’t make it all year but a mini goal is June. I did just stock up on Teavana and Davids sales so I’m set there. I also have Verdants monthly club but since I started that in Dec I’m not counting that either! LOL
I saw that jar idea going around Tumblr and I think I’m going to do it once I acquire a good sized jar.
1. don’t buy more tea until I cut down what I have. Exceptions are made for SUPER AMAZING sales.
2. Go to class and try to get all As for this last remaining year, maybe work to get an internship with the state office of economic development if my schedule allows it.
3. Join a CSA that lets you pick when you want a box and get a $30 box every other week, and base eating around it.
4. Try a new food every month. I already tried acorn squash yesterday, I got started early.
Yay CSA box! I am very selective (I hate squash and tomatoes particularly) so I’ve yet to do a box but I have been buying most of my produce locally for a couple years and love it. It’s tough in winter, but it is one of the best things I’ve done for myself.
This summer I really got into trying to eat more locally since GA’s biggest industry is agriculture. There’s also this really cool farmer’s market south of Atlanta that is actually a hub for grocery stores to get produce but anyone can go. It’s essentially 24/7 but of course most people are there from 6-3. I wish it wasn’t so far away because I would rather use it. We went and bought a big watermelon, a basket of the most amazing peaches I’ve ever eaten, and a basket of big juicy blackberries for like $10 total straight from farmers. The box is just waaaay easier though because I can pick it up 5 minutes away and I really want to try new things and find out what I actually don’t like instead of what I’ve just decided is terrible without trying it.
You make a good point – I’ve recently realized that a bunch of veggies I discounted as a child are actually delicious. Except squash and tomato..
Haha yeah, if you already know it, leave it. But I didn’t want to ever eat artichokes…then I tried them grilled and it was amazing. And kale, I was like why would anyone eat this? I was somewhere that had an avocado kale salad, so I tried it and then could not stop eating it. So now most things are getting a second chance, but not mushrooms. Ever.
I love mushrooms raw but if they’re cooked, I’m out. Asparagus was a big reveal for me two years ago – that stuff is delicious. I have come to like brussels sprouts too but find them really finicky. Avocado has a texture I can’t stand but that’s okay as no-one in NS is growing an avocado! :) I fell madly in love with peaches and apples again this year too. We grow them in abundance!
Asparagus and brussel sprouts are ones I’ll try if they end up in a box. I looooove avocado though oh man, my boyfriend is strongly anti-vegetable and my enthusiasm for guacamole led to him trying some on Monday. And he must have liked it, because even after giving me his, he reached over to my plate for more haha. We have lots of peaches and apples too, that’s really amusing that even with different climates you can get the same things, although they are probably slightly different and have different seasons. Even though Georgia is the “peach state” we grow more blueberries than anything now because the seasons are perfect for a long growing season for them. I love learning stuff like this!
Oh, I love our blueberries too. Strawberries are my fave but the season is so short that I eat them like mad for a month and then miss them the other 11. Blueberries have a much longer season here. Mmm!
Really like the CSA idea.
I love acorn squash!!!! Let me know if you ever need a good vegetable recipe ;) Like roasting brussels sprouts with carrots and potatoes with balsamic vinegar…. mmmmm!!!
oh if I get a box that ever has brussel sprouts, that sounds good! Everyone says they are amazing when roasted so I want to try them for the first time in my life haha.
I found a discounted deal for a box from a different company so I’m waiting to see what theirs is for the week, the actual farm one was kind of meh this week.
All sound wonderful! I want to loose weight but i have wanted too for years and the resolutions don’t work for that so i made simple ones to fallow so for once i can say I DID IT! lol
Attempt to learn a language, I’m thinking Korean or maybe Mandarin. It’ll be hard, but not learning another language is something I regretted not trying. I dropped out of french in high school (teacher was terrible and threw things) and it wasn’t worth potentially tanking my GPA in college to try a class.
I also want to get my house recycle more – but that might be resisted by my housemates who are lazy!
Tea related – drink more tea and organize my stash better.
