Emotional Tea
What’s your favorite tea for when you’re emotional?
Sad, lonely, happy, depressed? What about one for when you’ve made a terrible mistake (I need one for that RIGHT now! Lmao)
a tea that smells reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllly gooooooooooooood! i love the scent of Samurai Chai Mate after steeping :)
I love the smell of this tea! All of my friends do too. They wow at it. lol
Specific Blend: Zhena’s Gypsy Tea Sense Of Peace (stress, deep anxiety)
General Type: Any genmaicha
When I need to feel deeply nourished and or have a sense of HOME
a Japanese (seaweed) Kombu-cha either plain or ume flavored is what I prefer, as available.
Never had those kinds before. I’ll have to try it next pay check hopefully! They sound very relaxing.
The seaweed one really sounds interesting~
Sorry you’re not feeling so good! :(
When I’m feeling down my favorites are milk oolong or a good cup of chai
Thank you! I’m doing fine just need a new tea to keep my mind off of things. lol
I’ve never had milk oolong. Hmm sounds creamy~
I hope you got a good night’s sleep and that everything looks better in the morning over your cup of strong black tea laced with milk or whatever is your cup of tea! Black tea + milk = comfort for me, a strong, sweet, malty blend like Irish breakfast. Hugs to you today. We all make mistakes. Hopefully you’ll look back and say, no worries, all good.
I didn’t get much rest last night unfortunately.. BUT! I will tonight! (hopefully lol)
I’ve been searching for a strong black tea that I could enjoy. I mean REALLY strong. If you have any suggestions with that I’d love to have them!
Tea and milk seem like they would go well to comfort someone. I’ll have to start doing that more often. :]
When I’m depressed I notice I tend to reach for a chocolate tea, or a chai, or a chocolate chai… Probably because I tend to put a lot of milk an sugar/honey in them.
If anxious an herbal like Evening in Missoula.
LOL! We gave my husband a cup of Evening in Missoula and he was traumatized for weeks! I liked it a lot and saved the leaves to scent our bedroom, but he tried to get the kids to drink his tea, then told me he felt like he had been forced to eat an entire bouquet of flowers, then started drinking Coke to get rid of the taste, and looked horrified when I told him I had saved the leaves for my potpourri warmer! I had to throw the leaves away, and we still threaten him with EIM occasionally when he gets sassy! :) I agree with you, it is a lovely aroma and lovely soothing cup of tea!
Haha lots of sugar/honey and milk huh? Well I would feel a bit bad afterwards if its too much sugar.
“I’m practically eating a cake!” is the first thought I’d have. XD
When I’m depressed or anxious, I like a vanilla chai… nothing fancy, Bigelow bagged works well. And when depressed or anxious, easier is always better! Made for me with frothed milk is best, but a plain water-brewed would do.
Happy tea is quite the opposite… when happy, I prefer iced fruity flavors with sweetener.
I’ll settle for bag when I’m really depressed and want chai right away. Twining’s Pumpkin chai is a favorite, and Celestial Seasoning’s Sweet coconut.
Sometimes the less fancy it is the more relaxing it is. Taking in and concentrating on the true flavor of the tea can turn my focus away from my daily troubles most times. :]
Rosehips and/or Hibiscus also remind me of home, childhood (with or without a bit of sugar, and hot or cold)
i’m super into glitter & gold right now. basically anything with a warm cinnamon and vanilla embrace. but i find G&G to be the most loving cup of tea to date.
also, i’m chronically sad, lonely, depressed so i’m like a pro and stuff.
