Cat and tea lovers: Dewey
Cat and tea lovers. I can’t have pets because of the lease. I found the book: Dewey the library cat that Touched the World. I’m going to read this book while sipping tea. I volunteer for the library, and this book will be the perfect next read. If I had a cat, I would call them: Dewey.
aw! i hate when leases can be strict on “no pets” especially if it’s cats. my boyfriend and i have one and her name is Chessy :) i used to not be a cat lover until she came into my life. hopefully one day you can meet your own Dewey :)
I couldn’t live without my cats. Dewey was a good book, another good one is “Homer’s Odyssey” by Gwen Cooper, about a blind cat, also true story.
I visit www.grumpycats.com every day for a smile :)
My cat, not really being grumpy, just annoyed at being photographed so early in the morning.

I grew up with cats, I love them. I really want a cat myself, but the lease says no pets allowed, not even a goldfish in a bowl…trust me, I asked! So, I just get to see kitties when I go home to my parents or in-laws.
I wish I could have a pet kitty, but rent constraints and allergies ruin that possibility, until the day I can have an outdoor cat. Or I can live on Reactin so that I can breathe and not sneeze/itch continually. :( it makes me sad, I absolutely love cats, they are definitely my favorite pet!
I actually have allergies too. But it depends on the cat. Neko only bothers me when I spend the night at my moms.
Interesting, yeah some cars are worse for me but most still make me sneeze and itchy :(
I’m obsessed with my cat…his name is Jude. He’s 9 months old, solid grey, and perfectly handsome. I volunteer at the Humane Society here too and sometimes they can’t use the donations they get so they give them away and I got him a cat tower the other day…I call it his castle!
I’m a dork and I tell him stories of how we got him. I think he’s my child sometimes, which works because sometimes I believe he thinks he’s human anyway.
Thank you for letting me talk about my cat, people usually just roll their eyes haha
I love it when people have cat-children. I do not have a cat because I am not home enough to properly care for an animal, but I do have a cat nephew. His name is Stuart. He likes dill pickle chips.
Jackie T, I completely understand! We have a gray and white tuxedo cat, who we adore! He is always by our side and very attached. He is very human, communicating with us to get exactly what he wants! He likes coffee, ice cream, coffee ice cream and bread crumbs (if he manages to find some, though we don’t give him any of these foods :)
If you liked Dewey, you might enjoy “Making Rounds with Oscar: The Extraordinary Gift of an Ordinary Cat” by David Dosa.
This is the cat that made news some years back because he was able to uh, detect, the patients that were about to expire and stayed with them. Written by a doctor that worked at the same facility.
My mom said she read the book about Oscar. Which is why I wondered if she read Dewey.
This photo is more thread-appropriate “Cats and Tea”. ha. One of my two cats, she was younger and still semi-feral in this pic.

My feline buddy is named Jasmine. She’s a sweetie. She was a stray on the campus where I work, ended up pregnant. After I found homes for the kittens, I took her to my home. She looks grumpy in the morning when I have to leave her alone when I go to work. But fortunately she doesn’t look quite as grumpy as the one’s pictured in the grumpycat website.
