Probably Portland, with Chicago or New York City coming in close behind. I’m basing it on where all the tea shops are.

No place in Washington that’s for sure. Everyone around me is a coffee drinker yuck

Atlanta counts if you count buckets of sweet tea.

Seattle maybe? Though I definitely agree with momo in thinking the South wins if iced tea counts!

Trust me, NOT Seattle. Coffee, sure! Tea, not even close here.

Larger cities in the New England region, maybe?

Philadelphia has a pretty decent tea culture.

Burlington, Vermont is pretty into tea drinking, we have a local tea house downtown and then the independent cafes have their own loose leaf blends too. I wouldn’t say that it’s the biggest but for New England it’s pretty up there.

I haven’t run into many other tea enthusiasts in the Minneapolis area, despite the freezing cold temps. I keep hoping that I just haven’t found them yet.

Hey MJ – from MPLS here! Not venturing out – thinking my breath will freeze today! LOL

Check out TeaSource – there is one in Eden Prairie and one off 35W in St Anthony. They have sample Tues/Thurs and I meet plenty of tea people there.

Hi! I’ve been to the TeaSource in Eden Prairie, but it was a Saturday and there was only one other person there! I’ll have to swing in some Thursday and see who I meet :)

WOW! That’s odd! I’ve only been to the MPLS one though…EP is pretty far for me to go.

Sample days are awesome! It’s like $3.50 for 5 generous samples. If you go to their website they list the samples:

!! Next Tuesday’s lineup looks divine, I might have to figure out how to make that work. EP isn’t exactly a hop skip and jump, but if I plan ahead I can maybe make it down there. It absolutely sounds worth a little drive!

You’re right! Doesn’t look bad! Thursday looks yummy also. Their straight greens tend to all taste like green beans to me so I stay away on those days – lol.

I’m not sure about other cities, but maybe NYC. Many people are coffee drinkers (I think I saw 2 Starbucks on the same block, opposite sides – yikes), but there are several tea stores and tea rooms, such as DAVIDsTEA.

Lol, if iced tea counts then I think Atlanta has it nailed.

For hot tea I’d guess San Fran, Chicago, or New York.
