Bags for swaps

I really hate the cost of sending samples in full size zip lock bags especially when I’m not sending much tea in each of them. Will http://www.amazon.com/500-CLEAR-Reclosable-Zipper-Bag/dp/B002EDINF0/ref=lh_ni_t?ie=UTF8&psc=1 work for this purpose? Does anyone else have a better alternative?

That is the exact type of bag I get and I get them from the exact same seller HOWEVER I would suggest just a slightly larger bag. 3×4 is a good size. I ordered the 2×2 before and found them far too small for a lot of teas.

You also might want to look into just getting Ziploc snack bags. They’re really small and double bag really well. Depends on how many bags you need and how soon you want them.

Yeah I used those for a while but even then it felt a bit wasteful unless sending a LOT of one tea. It was also FAR more expensive but I was doing a ton of swaps too. This seller does ship REALLY fast though :)

I use snack sized bags for bigger sizes or 2×3 baggies for smaller (2-3 cup) samples.

Dollar stores have the small ones that can range from 2×2 and up for 100+

I went with the 2*3 bags from this retailer. Thanks for the help (: Ziploc bags just seem quite costly and wasteful.

Excellent choice – I think you will be quite happy with them and if not I will buy them off ya! :) I can always use more so may as well buy them from you instead of that guy. You will most likely like them though.

haha. 500 bags will last me a few lifetimes. They were only 4$ shipped too!

You’ll be surprised how fast you go through them: I ordered 100 and they lasted a little over a month!

Do you happen to have a heat sealer around your house? You can set it on a low temp and make your own sealed bags out of larger zip locks. I was really excited to break my old sealer out of storage for a recent swap. Totally not worth buying one just for swapping, but if you do have access to one it comes in handy for the bag issue.

I use the generic brand snack bags that have z press seal (not a slide zip) there only about $2 for 100!

Craft stores like Hobby Lobby and Michaels sell those same smaller plastic zip-lock bags for storage of jewelry-making supplies, beads, candy, etc. Usually a few dollars for a pack of 50 or 100.

They also regularly put out coupons for 40% off any non-sale priced item. And having only recently gotten a smart phone, I am totally enjoying the coupons on their apps- no looking for the coupons in the paper or printing out emails, I just open the app and there is almost always a coupon on my phone. You show it to them at the register, and voila! Instant discount.

I get basically those same ones, but I get them at Staples. I think it runs about $7 for 100 of the 3×5 sizes.

dollar store! :) they usually have them in their craft section – saves you some cash

Yeah… but I work at Staples. Employee loyalty ;)

Whats up with no Staples in the Buffalo area but 2 or 3 near Rochester? grr!
