adding tea to the website
i’m trying to add a tea from jing to the steepster website in order to get my review online, but i’m always getting an database error?
sometimes steepster is down but it always gets back up before 24hrs :) – for me anyways
I’ve been trying to add teas over the last couple of weeks but always get the Oops page. I’ve tried different times of day and browsers, so I was just wondering if anybody else is having success.
I get this alot. Sometimes it adds the tea even though it goes to the oops page. Check and see if it is already added. I have added the same tea several times before because I didn’t think it worked after I got an error message.
I’ve checked to see if the tea was added, but no dice. I’ll try adding it without an image to see if that works.
I added one either last night, or the night before that, and I didn’t have any errors or issues.
I’ve added two teas and only had an error page when I tried to include a picture. I had to add them without the image.
I was able to add the picture for mine, so it’s not a universal problem.

I was adding from URL, so maybe that was the problem
Ah yes, I uploaded from computer, so that’s probably the difference.
I haven’t been able to add any either. I’ve tried with and without picture. I’ve tried on at least 4 different browsers. It especially sucks because I got teas from a local tea store tonight. :-(
I am not positive but I think your account might be limited from adding or modifying teas for some amount of time after you first join. Probably to prevent people from creating dummy accounts and editing teas willy-nilly. Someone mentioned something about this once and it would explain why some people are able to add teas and some aren’t. I would email Jason (jasonATsteepster.com) to see if there is something like that happening.
I don’t think this is the case for me since I have been able to add and edit teas before these last few weeks. But good to know that system might exist.
Alright, it seems to work now! Or at least it works if I don’t add an image from URL. If I upload the photo from the computer, it works. Hopefully this is just a temporary glitch. Thanks for the responses!
Oh yeah, the add from URL has been broken since they updated the site some months ago. :( Don’t know if when they’ll fix it, but yeah I’ve taken to uploading them from a saved image.
Sometimes I can get the image to work if I add the tea, save it, and then edit and add picture. (That was a few weeks ago though…)
