Samovar now sells it! Here are 2 of the best Breville vids I’ve seen- even better than from the Breville people! I didn’t even know they had a “basket” feature til now.

I’ve heard some model adjustments are about a year out.

I’m getting mine today – I’m so excited. It seems like the tea maker I have been waiting for. A mag-lev tea basket! Stainless steel and glass! Extremely customizable settings. I can’t wait for FedEx to arrive

It is even better than I imagined. This really is the real deal. Finally a true tea machine.

I ordered mine from American Tea Room yesterday and it shipped today via FedEx ground. It has to come from Cali to Mich and I am SO EXCITED to get it.

My poor poor wallet this site is SOOOO bad for it! I really want to get a Breville after reading this thread. Having tea ready for me in the morning would be such a precious luxury! (especially when making tea is usually the last thing I get to do after chasing around my little ones!) I think I will print out the pictures of this and leave it on my husbands pillow LOL!

LOL! Teavana.com sells it now, it’s under their Tea Accessories page.

I’ve had mine for awhile now and it’s only experienced issues when I didn’t use the Baasket feature properly – I had to re-set it, which was easy. Otherwise, trouble free operation!

My only suggestion to the Breville Co. is that you allow us to keep hitting the keep warm button so we can keep our tea warm for, for example, 2 hours vs. 1 hour.

Well I sweet talked my husband and just ordered my Breville (it is my early Christmas present :) Hopefully it will arrive in a few days. Hope it is worth it, I think it will be just to wake up and have tea ready for me in the mornings!

I’m so interested in this tea maker. I’d love to be able to wake up to a perfectly brewed pot of tea each day.

Any feedback on how well this product works, specifically regarding the pre-set function?

Thanks!!!

People have also mentioned functionality in the tasting notes for the various teas they’ve made w/ it and I don’t think I’ve seen one negative comment.

It’s wonderful. I just roll out of bed, stumble to kitchen, and pour a cup of tea. I generally set it for about 10 minutes before I’m planning on rolling out of bed, since the time you set is the time the water starts to boil, not the time tea is finished steeping. As long as you can predict what you’ll be in the mood for in the morning, or you have a regular first tea of the day, it’s fantastic.

I highly recommend it!!

OOOHHHH!! Good to know “the time you set is the time the water starts to boil, not the time tea is finished steeping.” I didn’t know that.

Jaime said 2010-10-18 12:18:51 -0400

I didn’t, either, until I woke up early one day and happened to be in the kitchen when it started.

And you also have to make sure you set the am/pm part correctly, or when you go to pour the tea, you realize you set it for 4 in the afternoon instead of 4 in the morning.

Who the … is up at 4am to drink tea? LOL yeah I get your point, but your example of 4am was just shocking to me today. Probably cuz my dog had me up from 4-5 this morning.

Thanks for all the info, Jaime!

One more question, with the timer setting, does that need to be set everyday, or just once & it will come on everyday? [I’d be afraid of setting it, but not prepping it & having it come on without any water in it.]

(If that makes any sense.)

I have to be at work, or ready to be at work, by 6. I supervise school cafeterias, and have to be ready in case one of my schools needs help with breakfast.

You have to set the autostart every day. If you leave it plugged in all the time, the “current time” will always be correct and you won’t have to set it (I unplug when I’m not at home, so I set this every night). You set the tea temp/steep time, then press the autostart button until it flashes, set the time, and then have to press the “tea” button to start the time.

Did that make sense?

Not to jump in, but one more question for Jaime- Will it automatically keep it warm after steeping (I read for 60 min.) After it is on the warming feature can you hit the button again to add another 60 min? I ordered mine on Sat and should be here later in the week. just curious, thanks!

Thanks so much Jaime!!!!!!

That makes me feel much better——since I wouldn’t need it every day, I was afraid that I would forget to turn off the timer. But, of course this is a much more practical design.

Jaime said 2010-10-18 14:18:27 -0400

Kristen, honestly, I haven’t had any tea sitting in it long enough to notice if it stays warm after the brew. Usually, I pour the tea into a teapot and take the teapot with me to the other room. I’m a klutz, and I’ve broken more than one teapot by knocking it off the table, so I don’t take the Breville’s pot outside of the kitchen.

ok thank you, anxious for it’s arrival… I am stalking the UPS tracking but as of today it just says “processing to ship”

Small
Jaime said 2010-10-18 18:05:44 -0400

I did the same thing! Even to the point of calling UPS to see if I could pick it up at their hub early.

Jaime said 2010-10-19 05:31:45 -0400

Ended up sleeping in today, and my tea sat in Breville for an hour before I got to it. It’s still warm, but not hot. Probably have to press the “keep warm” button.

It’s so hard reading about everyone having this and not having one myself yet! Finally when I have the opportunity to buy one because of a discount code I can use through work, the Breville site has been out of stock for at least 3 weeks or so. So I should have this ordered as soon as I get an email from them saying they have it back in stock!

Cofftea said 2010-10-18 13:08:51 -0400

Oh I know Garrett! But I’m waiting til a few changes are (hopefully) made so it REALLY can be amazing.

I know how you feel!!! I’m positively torturing myself by continually researching this & I’ve only just found it!!!!!!!!!!!

How lucky you are to have a discount code, though!

My Breville came today! I am so glad I purchased it! I am getting ready to read the manual to operate the auto start but I already made one pot of tea just reading the quick start paper. Super easy! But I do have to agree the cord is short. I have a spot on my kitchen counter right under an open outlet so it is not a problem for me. Ok off to read the manual.

Woo hoo! Can’t wait to read your Breville Christening tasting note!

AmazonV said 2010-10-21 07:29:36 -0400

i really want to know how big everyone’s counters are – ricky had the same issue, mine reaches the edge of the counter a little to the left of the outlet once i unwound the cord from the base

Small
Kristen said 2010-10-21 17:58:55 -0400

ok stupid me! The cord is actually wound under the base. I think I even read that before I got my Breville but in my excitement didn’t remember it! No problems with cord now!!! And the autostart feature is AMAZING!!!!

Small
Jaime said 2010-10-21 18:16:53 -0400

Knew you’d like the autostart!! Isn’t it great to just roll out of bed and pour a great cup of tea?
