I am planning to make the final decision on the tea and to order some this weekend. Especially that we are going to be seriously snowed in (Hi, Nemo). Oh – one of my samples is going to Hawaii. Would you like me to include a sample of blizzardy snow, too? In exchange for a whiff of trade winds? ;)
First tea swap here, just want to make sure I do this right. How exactly should I send my tea out? I have little mini sample tins I was thinking of putting mine in.
That would be more than fine. I was just going to use a mini ziplock bag, inside of another to help protect it. I’ve seen. A few people do that. I always make sure to label the tea and include steep instructions if they have any.
My first time sending out too so what is a good amount? I don’t have small tins so I’m going to try looking for small ziplocks.
CK…I was looking around, and one of the steepsters here on another post had these mini zip locks (from a craft store)…I’m thinking about getting those so the shipping isn’t as much.
I’ve just used the snack size ziplocks, and I try to send out enough for at least 3 cups (so that you can get a good idea about the tea). Some people send out more, or less. I might send a bit more as I bought 2 oz of tea just for four people. :D But from what I’ve found Steepsterites are pretty awesome people and everyone always thinks the other person sent more to them than they did and feels guilty about it.
That makes me feel better! I’m trying to send out enough for everyone to have three cups as well, and was hoping that was a good quantity.
I just noticed little craft bags at Walmart craft section(mysteriously named “fashion accessories”, ). They are 3×4 inches reclosable bags, a hundred of them for $2. I can see a lot of books/tea swaps in our future!
TeaRunner, I use the little craft bags from Walmart and I’ve found they work great from my end (and hopefully for the people who I send teas to!)
My book arrived today:)
I’m third in line, waiting for 1 of 2 copies. I suspect ill just have to buy the ebook. At least I get it instantly if I decide on that!
Cavocorax, I think that’s what I’m going to have to do. I’m on the waiting list but I don’t want to wait.
I downloaded mine a few days ago and am around 30% full, really enjoying it even if I really don’t like Cora yet haha. I’m thinking of doing 3 teas for my little swap: one for Cora, one for her maid, one for the Duke. And maybe one for Teddy…
Great idea:) I think what we are doing is better than a traveling tea box. We are going to get tea from three people and all within our tea preference. Woot! I can’t wait to start the book today.
Yes, it’s definitely going to be fun! I hope to send mine out on Thursday, still thinking about including a tea for Charlotte or Teddy… tea decisions are hard!
Ok, I’ve been super busy and Steepster has been crazy on me for the past few days, so I’m just trying to catch up. How many teas are we suppose to send to the people in our group? I want to make sure I have this right before I randomly start mailing things. :)
At least send one. I sent several teas, but my cupboard is so very full, I just had to share a few good teas.

Well, I tried mailing them off today. Post office doesn’t close until 4:30 on Saturdays, but for some reason they weren’t open…
TeaLover58, I wonder if the P.O. is closing early today since Monday is a holiday (U.S.).
What holiday was on Monday, Serenity? I think I missed it, whatever it was!
Monday, February 11 was the observance of Lincoln’s birthday, in some states, such as the one I live in, but his actual birthday was February 12th.
Hmm, interesting. Apparently we don’t celebrate any of the that in NC?! It was just an ordinary day for us. Glad I didn’t know I was missing out on a free day until after the fact :)
I started reading the book!
After finishing karanina, I read the latest Harry Dresden book to satisfy my need for humor, action, & the supernatural. Then I read the 2 latest books by Elizabeth Hunter, which sated my desire for vampire erotica. Now I’m think I can handle our book club pick.
So far I read the first chapter, & I think I will enjoy this book.
As for tea, I’ll try to take a trip to the London Tea room this week, & hopefully get it in the mail by the weekend.

I finished reading the American Heiress!
I know…I’m way ahead…but I was in bed sick for 2 days, mostly sleeping, but when I was awake there was nothing to do but read.
So now I’ll focus on the teas I plan to share, & I promise, “no spoilers”!
Wow! That’s too bad you weren’t feeling well but at least you were able to do something enjoyable. :) I… don’t even have my book yet, but I’m not too worried as I’m a fast reader and I expect this to be much easier than AK.
