Official *What did you get in the mail today?* Thread!!!
Yesterday I got my Harney & Sons order. I just had Queen Catherine this morning and I am really glad I got a tin of this! All the other teas I got were samples.
Also, my husband received a package yesterday and he decided to give the contents to me – my early birthday present! – it was a variable temperature BonaVita kettle. I love it so much, I just want to make tea all the time. I am prediting the renaissance of greens and whites in my daily tea plans already :)
Cavo’s & my joint Adagio order came in. Two boxes worth and So. Much. Tea. XD My Mom was like ‘you got /two/ boxes today. /dissaproving tone of voice/’ XD My only save was that most of it was for Cavo and what was mine, I techincally didn’t pay for. Lol! I’m dying to start trying all the teas, but I’m at my parent’s house washing clothes and won’t be able to until later tonight. ;.;
Two boxes of tea is so exciting. However, if my mom saw that she would probably have a similar reaction to what your mom had. Good thing I don’t live at home :P
I’m so excited! :D
And yeah… yikes. Most of that was mine. /0\ Shipping will be a little nutty but I can’t wait to log that tracking number into my app. (When you get a chance – I’m not expecting you to reship it for a few days).
Varia – I don’t live at home either (hence the washing clothes at their house). But I get all my packages sent there because I don’t trust the mail at my apartment.
Cavo – Lol! I should take a pic for you of all it. It’s a pretty impressive spread. XD
Haha. I used to take my clothes home too and then realized it was more work to take my dirty laundry from Montreal to Toronto. If I sent packages there, it would not be good. I think my mother would not be impressed.
Oh.. be glad she isn’t an avid tea drinker or you might find yourself missing some when you get there to pick it up!
My swap from Roswell Strange arrived, filled with all sorts of tasty teas! I am in tea swap heaven right now and there are still more on the way!
And my swap from VariaTEA also arrived today ;)
my wee order from Pilgrim’s Rest Tea Shoppe came in today! beautifully packaged, i’ve already tried the Earl Gray Creme (to DIE for!) and have the Masala Chai on the menu for first thing in the am. i love teamail, i do!
Surprise mail from VariaTEA thank you so much!
Just got two pounds of Warming Crimson Berry by Frontier National Products Co-op. I had only a sample and wanted to make sure I got plenty in case it was considered seasonal. Bright red color, berry and hibiscus (Not a hibiscus fan, but this is OK with sweetener)) and chili. It is so awesome to drink today, since it is 12 degrees below zero. I know that this is not a tasting note but it is so fun and warming.
I love when I get to post to this thread :)
Got my Della Terra order today. Ordered a bit more than I expected to.. but hey, they had a sale and I couldn’t resist. They also through in a sample of Honey & Spice.. not sure if it’s one I would have picked out myself, but it might be the first one I try :)
So I’ve been watching Buffy and Angel for the first time (I know, I know!) and love Giles to pieces. I also love celadon-colored kitchen stuff, so when I noticed the mug he regularly uses well, I was curious. That lead me down a rabbit hole and today the following awesome drinkware came!
So YAY internet!
ebay. i thought the mug would be a one-off thing and it turns out it’s part of a popular/coveted line of vintage restaurant/serveware, the anchor hocking fire king jadeite line (they also had stuff in a rosy pink, milk blue, etc.). the good news is there’s a relatively large amount of it (given it’s vintage) still in circulation because it was designed for restaurants so it’s sturdy (the thickness is what attracted me along with the color), the bad news is it’s yeah, become a collector’s thing (martha stewart likes to brag about her collection here: http://www.marthastewart.com/851601/marthas-jadeite-collection ) so it’s not always cheap but some of it is. sometimes it can be found on etsy too.
My mom used to have some of the green mugs when I was growing up. I used to think they were ugly… Funny… Now if my kitchen was a bit of a different style, I could see myself displaying some of them :)
i tend to have weird taste for sure—i like heaviness/thickness, clean lines, relative plainness, and loud colors. (: most of my kitchenware, stuff like mixing bowls and juicers and plates and vases and whatnot, is a similar celadon hue (including my stand mixer!), whee. occasional ’50s rosy pinks and warm yellows too, and a lot of white porcelain.
Hooray for Buffy and Angel! :D Glad you are enjoying. Buffy is probably my favorite series (though I love Angel as well) I’m working on season 7 as one of my many re-watches. xD
Love the teaware by the way, super cute. :D
